What does it mean when a guy takes your phone and puts his number into it?

Okay, so the guy I like took my phone while we were in school and put his number into it. He then texted himself from my phone so he had MY number. but its been a week and he never texted me? So I don't know what I should do...should I just leave it alone? Or text him? And if I text him, what should I say?

I figure he wouldn't have given you his number if he didn't want to talk to you. Maybe text him and ask how he's doing. No harm in trying, I suppose.
