I really like a shy guy who I work with. He always stares at me from afar and we sometime flirt a little and tease each other. I told him that I liked him a while ago, he said he couldn't get into anything but still flirts and stares at me. Whenever it gets to the point where I feel like we are getting somewhere something happens and I get insecure and don't think he likes me so I give him the cold shoulder which seems to have an effect on him too, he seems to get moody when I do that. I don't mean to. just don't know what to do to keep it going. I know he needs to feel comfy around me cos he's shy so why when he finally does do I do this?

I have a similar situation going on with a professional associate. We met, flirt a bit but nothing has happenned other than an occasional lunch. I've decided to just call him and put it out there and see what happens. Either he'll feel the same way and step his game up or he'll just reject me (hopefully not). Either way, its been about a year of this cat and mouse game and I can't take it anymore. I need us to either hook up or stop flirting so I can let go of these weird feelings I have. In your case, I think you just have to work to try not to be insecure and show some really strong queues that your interested. Hopefully he'll pick up your queues and things will move forward from there.

I'm in the exact same situation with a guy at work. Except I'm shy too so I haven't told him I like him. There's always an awkwardness when we are around each other too cause it's like we both know what's going on but neither wants to come out and say it. I have no idea. I think maybe it's a defense mechanism to keep from getting hurt in case there's a possibility he really doesn't feel the same way or he won't ever cross that line between friendly coworker and more than that.
