My crush quit his job...why did he say this to me?

I recently told me crush (he works at the nearby starbucks) that I think he is cute during closing time (he was the only one closing). He smiled and told me 'feel free to talk to me anytime ...we can even talk now if you'd like...' I was with my friend when I said it so I smiled and told him my name and told him we can talk next time. Then he smiled and waved goodbye. I went to starbucks a couple days later and didn't see him...then I came back another day and didn't see him...turns out he quit his job. Why would he say this to me and not ask for my number if he was planning to quit?

I'm sorry. I was in a similar situation about a year ago. I had a lot of chemistry with a guy who worked at a place I went too. I was too shy to do anything about it, and he saw this as me not liking him so he stopped flirting with me. I can't get him out of my mind, so I went back a few months later after not going there. Guess what? He moved and didn't work there anymore. I still think about him and wish that I had flirted back because I have this big "what if" sitting in the back of my mind.

The good news is that you will not have a big "what if" sitting in the back of your head because you made a move. You had the guts to tell him you that he was cute. For whatever reason, he quit. Maybe he was sick of his job or had quitting in the back of his mind for a while. You never really know why he quit. I know this is going to sting a little, so I feel bad for saying this. But I don't think he was as into you as you were into him. He did like you in a way, and perhaps even found you pretty, but he didn't ask for your contact info. He should have since you gave him an chance to do so. But ... that's OK. You win some and you loose some. You'll meet someone else.

It's just one guy, don't be sad. He could've felt offended you didn't wanna talk to him then. Have a look around on Facebook or ask around there, you may find his name and then you can send him a message.

Asking around about old employees at starbucks might turn up a name, or at least a last name...

The crazy stalker solution is to go to a site like switchboard.com and look it up and call him, and just say you got his information (well, you did) from Starbucks :)

A more relaxed approach is hope someone in there knew him well enough to pass on a message for you.

I take your word for it that you are pretty, so I am sure it was unintentional on his part.

Well if like you said, he smiled and was friendly with you when your friend told on you, he propably is or was interested at that time. Reason for him not working anymore, maby he got a better job or he has a personal problem or something.
