Rejection-wise, it was pretty brutal. I got the handshake at the end of a date with her. Since we're classmates and see each other fairly regularly, I was expecting a hug.
Anyway, the first day after the date, I didn't want to be awkward about it, so I acted the same way I always did around her. It didn't feel awkward at all. But the day after that, I cut down my attention on her, since I realized that the door was pretty much closed on her.
I started seeing things that I missed before. I realized that in large groups, she would never pay particular attention to me. She was always more interested in the other guys. I drew the line when, the day after the date, she told me how she thought another guy was attractive and that she couldn't handle herself when she saw his face.
So I withdrew my attention and she started asking me what's wrong and stuff, occasionally trying to jump into my conversations or compliment me to get me to acknowledge her fully. But I continued to withdraw and eventually she gave up and started ignoring me too. What sucked is that she had to give me a ride during all this and I left my wallet in her car and had to text her to get it, even though I wanted to continue to ignore her. Probably made me look even weaker in her eyes.
