Why would a guy hide his feelings towards a girl he likes?

There is a male friend of mine whom I met in my tution 2 years ago. Since some months we have been close as a friend. Whenever I asked him to meet me, he came and I did mention the term as "date". So basically I could date him only once but as we were spending time together it wasn't a feeling like :just friends:. His behavious, his kindness was more like he has some feelings for me, and he knows this very well that I feel for him. he likes teasing me, he always meet me whenever I ask him, he met my friends when I asked him to, though he didn't even know their names. He used to flirt with me as well but now me and friends feel that he is hiding his feelings for me. he gives justification to me for everything, like when he had a picture of a girl in his cell phone, he first justified then showed the pic. whenever my friend teases him with my name he gives very different ans. like she just asked me to marry that guy in a group chat, after hours he replied her name along with smileys of angry face and a smiley with a finger on its lips, nad just said you started again.

Though he had already said that he doesn't want any love in his life, he doesn't want to make a girlfriend now, he still talks to me and meets me. His replies has always been something different.

He always asks me to change my pretty pictures saying its not good when all my friends and acquaintances says its really beautiful or sexy etc...i always ask him the reason but he never gives me the direct reply, he just said its not good.

He gets hyper unlike my other male friends and my ex (who says he still loves me) whenever I talk about the guys who tried to molest me or is harassing me.

now if this isn't love then what is it?

why is he being so sweet with me when he is saying that he tried to ignore my messages because he felt that I have feelings for him?

why does he love teasing me, specially with the names of the girls? [he also asks me the no. of the girls whose names I take (just to tease me)].

and if he has some feelings for me then why is he trying to hide it?

we have flirted a lot, we have exchanged smileys that gives kiss.

He even blocked me twice (for just an hour) and the reason he said " I had my issue"..which makes no sense...except that he was trying to avoid me...

He himself had asked me to meet him twice...and when I turned him down...he got rude for the time being...

and some months back we used to talk over phone for more than an hour...(there were no topic as such to discuss)

he never compliments any of my picture...

i always used to attend tuition in my nerdiest looks with glasses and pony tail...so once I attended my college without my glass and ponytail...he was shocked to see my...and the next day I asked him why were you shocked to see me..

he replied that I was looking different...as in pretty...but after that day he never replies the same thing even for the same incident...so basically he never compliments me even if I am looking pretty or sexy...

i diddnt read any of that, and no one else will, keep your questions short, no need to give us every miniscule ounce of detail because your under some strange impression it will change our answers. it won't by the way

cus the reason is that at no point in the whole of recorded history has a guy told a girl directly how he feels without it backfiring in his face. so it puts us in a habit of trying to keep it secret till the right moment, which will never come if you try and force it out of him.

you should learn to spell lol but after that just stop bringing up the conversation of how you two "feel". every day stuff you should be talking about just relax and enjoy the guys company. if he brings up anything serious then fair enough but your obviously putting way too much thought and pressure onto this guy. If your still getting him to tell you how he feels then your going to get nowhere

He probably likes you but isn't interested in anything serious. A guy can flirt, be friendly, cuddle with you, have sex with you, treat you like his best friend etc. and still won't feel interested in you being his girlfriend. It's like there is something but he's just not at the same place as you. Some guys also just like the idea of knowing there's a girl out there who they can flirt with. Sort of like a option. That's why he gets angry or jealous sometimes. It's bruising his ego cause he wants you to be there whenever he snaps his fingers.

For me, it's the other way around, they can flirt, be friendly, want cuddles from me, and treat me like their best friend, but were never interested. Sad reality is that girls don't JUST have this problem, guys do too, girls also do this to guys too.
