So, my best friend, who's a girl, has a roommate, that I saw when I went to pick her up. I said hi, she said hi. Later that night, my friend went home, and ask her what she thinks about me, and she said that I'm "beautiful" :D I know, sounds weird to me too, but anyway... The girl is really really cute, and really smart, and I told my friend to ask her if she wants to out for a coffee sometimes. And she said that she would love that. Now... A few days after, I went to visit my friend again, and before I left, I asked for her number, and she said "We don't know each other, I can't just give you my number", but she smiled. I apologized, and walked out.

Now, there are some facts here... 1. I've never had a girlfriend, and never asked anyone's number before :) I asked her out (via my friend), she says "yes", I ask for her phone number, she says "no". It took me a lot of courage to ask her, and I feel really bad right now. Is it normal that she refused to give it to me? Should I just give up? I believe now she thinks I'm awkward or something...

And 2. Let's say, somehow, I get her to go on a date. I don't know how to act on a date. I've never been on one before. What do I do? I'm afraid that we're going to run out of things to talk about, and we'll have those awkward pauses, when no one says a thing, and she will get bored fast. Any advices?

I think your being to direct here.. I wouldn't have gotten your friend to ask her out you should have done it yourself and you can seem desperate for her attention if you do she will shy away and you might think that's dumb but that's the harsh reality of girls. Just for future reference don't let your friend ask her out it just speaks alot. It shows you like that your too nervous to ask her out for yourself and that shows vulnerability. I don't really know how to explain it but you don't wanna seem to interested right away. To me if I said no to a guy for his number its because I don't really wanna go on the date you should have asked her for her number before the date. My suggestion would be to not worry about the date for awhile. Just act like you don't really care about it don't really talk to her about to your friend because she will probably tell her best friend. Just flirt with her somedays and other days try to act like you don't really notice her. I'm not saying you should be like this with every girl but it doesn't really seem like she's interested or maybe she thinks your rushing this because you don't know her that well so that's why she said that. Get to know her first before you try anything again and try not to act like a love sick puppy dog. Good luck!
