Is he into me or just a playful person?

There's a guy I work with who I'm not sure is interested in me or not.

He recently started (we work in a restaurant) and was pretty shy in the beginning. Since most of my coworkers didn't talk to him much when he was new, I decided to talk to him and joke around with him, so he would feel more comfortable. He introduced himself to me first but I initiated many conversations so he wouldn't feel awkward when the rest of us would talk and joke around.

Soon, it turned into us kind of flirting/teasing each other about stupid things-one time I thought he stole my pen when it was hidden somewhere, so he would frequently point out that I accuse him of stealing pens. Then he actually would "steal a pen" and give it back, pretty childish stuff.

Then we started talking more and I found out we have some things in common like certain fears, allergies, hobbies, etc.

Now, he still teases me a lot but also helps me out with things. One time he asked me to do something for him and I jokingly said "What am I? Your slave?" and he said "No, you're (his name's) b***ch". I knew he was joking but told him "Oh no if I'm that to you then you're that to me, it's mutual", he kept disagreeing then finally said fine.

Then other times, I'll ask him if he can clean something for me (it's his job) even when he's done for the night and he'll tell me no, then he'll do it anyways. Today, I was carrying something heavy and he automatically grabbed it from my hands to help me out. Then he also asked me to help him with something he was doing too and I did.

People I work with keep saying they're going to hook us up and that he likes me and that they could see us together. He's pretty playful and teases me a lot but he's a little younger and I don't know if he's just that way.

I am attracted to him but I'm not sure if he is into me too? Or is he just a playful person?

He likes you. Men aren't always the ones that have to make the move. Get to know him through work and find out if you're interested in HIM. You're attracted to him, sure, but you don't really know him just yet. So, be glad that the proximity of work lets you hang out with him without any expectations and see where it goes. If you realize you really like him, then go for it, don't wait for a guy to make a move. This is the 21st century!

Just make sure you are not a rebound...but he definitely likes you which is great but why he hasn't pushed forward is the thing im looking at...does he like u but keeping it distant to see if an ex will come back?mayb not but dont put nothing pass anyone. Wish u the best girl :)

Thanks! I don't know if it's an ex but it could be the age difference... I'm older than him so maybe that makes him uncomfortable or makes him think that he doesn't have a chance? I don't know

He sounds like he is interested. If the people you work with think he is, then he probably is. They are the ones that see how you guys interact first hand.

That is true! They all like to jokingly push me toward him and keep saying they're going to get us together. It must be obvious to them that we like each other?

It's hard to tell from my perspective if he does, but I've always been bad at that.

One coworker has even said to both of us "you guys really hate each other" then said "you're going to end up married". The other guy made up a date for us too. He said no then after awhile went along with it and said "you better be there!". They all joked that I'd be a mean abusive wife as well, he thinks a mean person.

I guess it's hard to see for myself if he actually does or if he's just doing it to make work more interesting since he hasn't made an actual move yet.

In my experience you have to give the guy some time. He will come eventually become more serious towards you. He might be telling you something in between the lines...look for the signals

I do the same thing to people, He probably likes you, I do this with girls I have an interest in. So I say go for it.

He's clearly into you! Trust me, a guy would waste his time to flirt and joke around if he wasn't interested. I'm pretty sure that deep down you have a feeling that he's interested..

Thanks! He still hasn't asked me out or for my number so I'm still not sure. He seems interested but isn't doing anything about it.

Also he has started joking with me that I'm a mean person, that he hates me and that I'm the devil. He'll glare at me (slightly smiling) and say things like I deserve things being thrown at me. He also tells me "you're the worst!".

I added him on fb and he said he never gets on it so he wasn't going to add me back but one night after work and after I bugged him about it he added me. I messaged him saying I was excited he added me and he kept saying things like "I was going to decline, I don't know why I didn't" and "I should delete it".

Another joke that was started by someone else was that we hate each other so much were going to get married and that Id be abusive. At first he said no that won't happen and now he goes along with us "getting married".

I'm not sure if all of this teasing means he likes me?

Guys aren't like girls. We don't flirt with people we aren't somewhat interested in. If he's flirting there is some form of interest in you.
