Questions About Happiness: What's the secret?

What is the key to get up every day full of joy? Is there really a secret?

It is said that happiness is not achieved if you do not want to be happy. We decide whether we are happy or if we let life defeat us. The greatest enemy of happiness is the overweening ambition, because, do we need to have 5 houses to be happy? Of course not. Having only "the necessary" is enough to be happy.

How to be happier? Is it possible to be happy?

Have you realize how lucky you are to have something to eat every day? For having a roof, clothes, shoes, family, work, school, water, health, etc. ?

When you understand being alive is enough of a reason to be happy, then you'll be happy.

Why isn't this enough to be happy? How can humans forget their shortcomings and focus on all these wonderful things we have?

"Money does not buy happiness", that is what most people can not understand. When they hear this phrase always think, "well, I would not mind being on a cruise crying." But my question is ... if the rich have access to many luxuries, why can't he be happy? Why can't people see that no matter how much money you have in the bank, if you do not feel satisfied with your life and with who you are, you can never be happy?

Why we find it so hard to be satisfied?

The answer is that the world makes you think your purpose in life is to study, prepare for work, work, make money, and make of your life a routine. Why were we excited about becoming adults? Why are responsibilities that special?

For me, the purpose of every human being should be being happy. I bet most people are unhappy with their jobs, a minority does the work they're passionate about, so working to make money is not the answer, doing what you love is... What's the secret of happiness then? Maybe it's enough with finding what you love, letting it consume you, with knowing, satisfying, filling and purifying yourself.

I get that... But my social life sucks, I'm a introvert, beta male, who is a door mate sweet, nice, caring, guy who's a real Christian with 14 hobbies and a cooking job. Every time I communicate with people it's like... okay? They don't care. Cause I'm on a another level of spiritual growth. I talk to people they get mixed feelings, my brother or everyone else talk to people they laugh, joke, play around etc. it's depressing cause I have stoop down to talk about movies and YouTube vines and etc while it's okay but they talk about there lives and it's okay, but let me do its like I'm torturing them to listen to me. It sucks, it's sad and it hurts. Girls try to use me, and guys just want me to be an open hear to entertain them. It hurts cause when I push back I'll be heartless and it won't feel right. These are people I see everyday or every other day.

Very intelligent people 'stoop down' to talk to individuals of normal intelligence. It's all about appreciating the simple things in life, and enjoying life through the eyes of another person.

A secret to happiness I have heard is exceedingly low expectations which in my case would be to the point that you almost lose every once of faith in the universe such that it nearly collapses to absolute zero. You will never be disappointed!

Another secret to happiness is not to take things for granted. Once you start to do that, it is time to come back to realizations possibly by going into the cruel, painful, hardships, and drudgery of hell. Once you go through that again, you kindof awaken to how nice and good things really are! For example, go out and work the fields time and time again, day after day, then you realize how nice it is to lay back and relax!

I am sure there are other ways to be happy too, but those were some that came to mind.

Having a deep commitment and being fairly successful or not frustrated with it. This could be a marriage, children, a career, a political ambition or creativity of some kind. Building something, working towards something and, mostly, getting there.

Having all of this recognised (noticed) somehow.

(Partly the same thing): having a person you love and who loves you. Not necessarily a partner but probably a partner in most cases.

Doing things young enough (in time) to not end up with regrets or out of time in life.

Safety, health, material sufficiency, etc., are necessary but won't cause happiness.

Very good take - To me your priority list should be (1) Make sure that the people you care about have enough now and in the future (2) Make sure you have enough now and in the future (3) Try and make sure the people you care about are as happy as possible (4) You try and be as happy as possible (5) All the other crap will fall into place and you have to adapt to it after you have done first 4.

Being happy is personally defined and to do more of what makes someone happy is happiness. Loving oneself goes a long way too in defining what it means to be happy, it comes from the inside not something you can wear or buy in a store, it's felt.
