Polynesia is so beautiful. And so are you. Polynesia will come into the article again later on but first of all, let's talk about Photoshop.

I am sure you girls have heard Meghan Trainor's song "All About That Bass". I have mixed feelings about the messages this song gives out, I like how it tries to stop girls from having un-realistic ideas about their weight but I don't like how it makes it sound like girls are either plastic barbies or really chubby, or that chubby is the best. I would like to highlight some of the words:

I see the magazines working that Photoshop
We know that sh** ain't real
Come on now, make it stop
If you got beauty beauty just raise 'em up
'Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top.

She is right! Watch this video, numbers 3 and 4 represent exactly what I am on about:

So when it comes down to it, you girls are being fooled by some stupid piece of software into thinking there is something wrong with you and that you are "fat". And the men are being fooled as well!

About Polynesia again, the women there can be of a considerable size and in the past it was considered a good, attractive thing for a young girl to have a healthy appetite and put on weight. Men loved it. I read that a while ago, they decided to do a social experiment in Fiji where they interviewed young girls about how they felt about their bodies and heard them all say that they wanted to grow big and strong and help their family. Many of these girls were just darling looking. I saw an old fashioned picture of some Tongan girls recently which it is a shame I can not find because I want to share it with you, but the point is that these girls were happy, healthy, and did not really worry about their weight. Some were considered more pretty than others but it was not based upon their weight.

So back to the experiment, they started inserting pictures of Western women to the media that had been photo shopped and when they interviewed the girls again a few years later, they found most of them insecure and a great many had done silly diets and had force vomited. This has been done to you girls too.

One point I just want to get across: I am not saying that girls should just let themselves go, not care what they look like, etc. I am just saying that girls should be healthy and see the images the media push at them for what they are. Every girl wants to be beautiful, that is fine, but they also need to know that there is more to them than their looks.

Here is something else to consider. Girls make themselves look like sexy stick figures for whom?

GUYS. If a guy only wants a girl who looks like a barbie, what does that suggest? That he is only interested in the sexual experience? Maybe. Girls, you are worth more than a one night stand.

Here is an interesting thought:

What if pouring yourself—the good and the hidden—into those around and beyond you afforded you the kind of self-worth you can’t get from social media or one of the thousands of self-help books crowding our shelves?

Try it! Make the world a better place.

Let me close by sharing a really special video that teaches a valuable lesson about this subject. Watch what someone does to make a girl realise what she is worth. Guys, be this guy.
