The Truth About Friend Zoning

Why do girls friend zone guys? And what's this new "family zone?" Keep reading to get the facts from a girl herself!

FRIEND ZONE:

Genuinely, the girl isn't interested in you sexually. She does, however, find you to be a nice person. A good friend. She will announce the friendship excessively making you feel even worse, but don't take it to heart. She doesn't know you like her and she doesn't know it's annoying.

FAMILY ZONE:

Defined by being called a girls "brother." The biggest like of crap ever. The worst part is that being called a brother by her can mean two opposite things.

Interpretation 1:

Being called a brother allows the girl to touch you and joke with you and be able to justify it by saying you're like a brother. But really, she likes you and wants to bring you out of the friendzone.

Interpretation 2:

The girl knows or thinks you like her and wants to show you she's not interested like that; she wants to date you as much as she'd want to date her brother.

If you aren't sure how she feels, test the waters. Flirt and see if she says "that's weird, we're like family" or if she flirts back. Call her your sister and see if she looks disappointed. Best of luck to you all, hope this helps!

I find there to be a couple different types of "friend zoning"... there's friend zoning a guy because you are not into him in a romantic way but you truly enjoy being his friend (which I suppose would typically lead to "family zoning") and then there is friend zoning where the girl will still lead on the guy to make him think there could be potential because she loves the attention she gets from him (compliments, ego-boosts, etc) but she doesn't want to be romantically involved with him... usually these guys get stuck on the back-burner

Indeed the 'lead on friend zoning', seems far too common for my liking.

My advice to guy is still to move on and not associate any further with such girls, it doesn't serve any good to linger in a vain hope for change.

If you say to me "I like you" and I say "I just want to be friends" and you say "but I really like you" and I say "No lets stay friends" and we stay friends, its called friendzoned. And I have done it before.

@arcticrussianfoxes. You proved my point. The guy made a proposal, you counteroffered and he accepted. He could just as easily rejected your offer of friendship. Meaning his actions caused the friendzone.

Guys allow themselves to be friend-zoned, if you are interested in a girl sexually and she friendzones, then walk away and spend time with a girl worth your time.

Guys can remove themselves from the friendzone and into the acquaintance zone, a much better choice if you are unhappily in love with the girl.

I didn't friend zoned but I get friend zoned by my close friend here and it doesn't bother me at all because he is the must close boy in here friend zoned isn't that bad at all..

Friend zone to me is if you asked them out but they told you they don't like you this way... So she definitely knows about the aktive part of friend zoning, she has.
