I love calling my boyfriend, "Daddy"?

So, my boyfriend (of almost 2 years) and I do a lot of things together, and we're extremely open with what the other has on their mind.
A couple months ago we got into a conversation (which in all honesty I can't remember how it started) where I brought up the whole "Daddy" thing in a joking matter by accident, but a part of me realized that that was something I really wanted. Almost... Needed, in a sense.
To give you more background, he's older than me by about 6 or 7 month, and I'm also pretty submissive by nature, not just in the bedroom. I'm quite shy and have always looked up to more dominant men. My boyfriend is the perfect package for me in every way.
I call him Sir and Master, and genuinely feel happy when I do things that please him (not just in the sexual sense either).
But, about a week ago, we were watching a movie and talking about different things we like (which isn't unusual), we started kissing and I loved feeling cared for and protected in that moment, I guess is the best way I can put it.
But, as soon as he finally asked me if I ever wanted to call him "Daddy", I got so unbelievably turned on.
I said yes very quickly. I went on talking about how I wanted to act, things that he would do. Until that point we've been in a Dom/Sub type relationship practically 24/7, but of course around family we try to keep it as minimal as possible.
But I have never, EVER associated calling him "Daddy" with an incestuous relationship or anything like that. And he is by no means sexually attracted to actual little girls, just to make that clear.

So, is this something that a lot of guys are into? I've searched on the internet and a ton of girls say it's "gross" or "disturbing" but I love it so much.
