Why would a girl call a guy bestie knowing it would confuse him?

So I've been talking to this girl for awhile and in a couple of times she called me bestie or best fraaaannn like she texted me on the first day of school a picture of her that said happy first day of school bestie then she sent another pic that said first day outfit.

So I asked a girl at my school was I horribly friendzoned and she kinda tagged along the next time I saw the girl I liked she said from her body language and the way she says bestie that she likes me and just wants to seem like she's closer to me... like wtf.

So I didn't completely believe my friend so I decided to test the waters myself it was my birthday so I texted her saying this is my bday wish exactly this "I really want to kiss you jk I know we can't so I'll just be happy with another hug" (Note this girl has a bf thats why I said I know we can't to make her comfortable about the msg) She responded back within the same minute saying "Hahahaha oh lord David" Now I didn't respond back and she has been texting and snapchatting me first for the past two days So I figured that from her message she wasn't adverse to kissing me... not that she wants to but she didn't say were just friends or I don't feel that way about you she left it open.

1) Ladies what did her message mean?
2) What would you say if you only thought of the guy as a friend?
3) Why do you confuse a guy by calling him a bestie if you like him?
4) Why does she keep messaging me?

First of all, if she has a boyfriend DON'T get yourself involved with her just yet. If they break up then you can do something about your little crush on her, but if you like her that much I suggest you TELL her so she knows. If she likes you back she will obviously dump her current boyfriend for you. She probably called you bestie because like your friend said she wants to seem close to you. It's true. She's just being playful and thought it would be cute, and wanted you to tell her she's cute by sending you a picture of her outfit! We don't send just ANY guys pictures of us you know? She keeps messaging you either because she likes you and obviously you're bestfriends so she likes to talk to you. :)

but thats just the thing we are not bestfriends we've only know eachother for 2 months or so

1.) She's probably just embarrassed or saying it playfully don't look so deep into it
2.) I have a guy friend and you have to establish the relationship
3.) For girls, she would call you a bestie if she knew you have something going on ie. a girlfriend, or if she don't like as much as you like her.
4.) Just as a friend, she may just think of you as the guy she can talk to.

We would say that because you are our friend and regardless of why though if she has a bf leave her alone as far as liking her goes, be her friend but that's it
