Why do people like Converse so much?

I have nothing against them, its just that there are so many better looking shoes. To me, converse look like bowling shoes. In fact, the first time I saw them on my friend, I asked him why he was wearing bowling shoes. I'm not really all that up to date on fashion trends. Me, I wear a very unique looking pair of Nike Airmax III's I think they are called. They are like, blue and orange. It sounds bad, but it looks good, and they've lasted me a while.

People love converse for a lot of reasons. Mainly probably because they are a classic shoe. They give kind of a laid back, rocker look. They come in a lot of different colors and designs. Basically, theyre a classic. Theyre also comfortable. They also have some pretty neat history to them if your interested just type in Chuck Taylors or Converse on wikipedia. They were the first basketball shoe.

i like simple shoes. I think those basketball shoes that are like green and orange and purple are really ridiculous looking. I don't like Converse all that much either though. my favorite shoes on a guy are the simple but classic black and white Adidas Sambas. I wanna be looking at your face, not your colorful feet.

Thats what I thought at first too, but converse seem way too plain to me. I really like my shoes because they blend in with the rest of my clothes. They aren't the blue and orange that "pop", just a subtle hue that melds in nicely with the jeans I wear. I don't know, if so many people like converse, I guess they are good-looking shoes. I still don't see it, though. If I wear something, I want it to be unique and special, not simple and mundane, you know?

I like them because they are simple, and go with anything. Like Lis4Loca mentioned, they give a laid back/rocker vibe, which fits my personality. My guy friends wear them all the time, so I suppose they kinda rubbed off on me. =]

Probably because they look so cool. Converse are simple shoes in a good way, nice looking and pretty comfortable, people wearing them have style, I like them because it goes well with most of clothes and fit my personality. Converse shoes have a mixture between rebel and stylish shoes

Well the only converse shoes I wear are basketball shoes. And I only wear them because there real lightweight so it gives me an extra step on the court

It's a bandwagon thing. The company shows people wearing them, they look cool. Kids at your school where em, look decent. And more people wear them to fit in.

I'm not a label pack animal so honestly who cares why people like converse lol.

a lot of people like the plain style. I've never heard of them being referred to as bowling shoes before and never thought they looked anything like it. theyre just sneakers without flashy additions. and they're comfortable.

No, I said "basically". Obviously dress shoes and sneakers look different, I just don't really distinguish between different types of casual shoes or different types of dress shoes and things like that. I don't even know what kind of shoes I wear. They're made by Solomon and they are green. I don't think they have a name.

Cool, green shoes. The only reason I know what model mine are is because this girl I knew was really into shoes for some reason, and she immediately recognized the model. The name just sort of stuck with me.
