She texts me, I respond, she reads my message but doesn't respond untill later?

So what is this, there is this girl I kinda like but I'm getting a bit annoyed by the way she is acting.. she messages me, I message her back within like +/- 15 mins and then she reads my message like 3 minutes later, continues to come online and offline and then responds a hour later? I'm so close to just ignoring her and be done with it because I get annoyed by things like this.. Why do girls do this? Do they do this on purpose? I mean if you don't want to talk to me then just don't talk to me at all.. right?

With "She comes online and offline" I mean on whatsapp.. so she is on the app but just doesn't respond

Almost every girl including me does this. Sometimes we just don't want to respond/ feel like responding. Even if we do see that someone has messaged/texted us. She could be busy, or something else could be occupying her time. She could also be messaging/ talking to other people. ... if she still keeps continuing to do this tho... first i would confront her about it... if she still keeps doing this and you feel there's nothing more you can say/do CUT HER OFF

She might just be thinking of a response or doesn't have the answer. I like to think about what I will write back, so there are times I don't respond right away. Plus I am busy. I always respond and depending on how much I like the person, it may actually take longer because I want to write back something thoughtful and grammatical correct. With friends and others I will text right back because I don't care what they think of my response.

If I say it once, I say it 1000 times. STOP judging people on how quickly they answer or reply to text or whatever. Some people DO have lives outside of their phones and don't walk around with it glued to their faces.

If it's really important, and she's important to you, quit being lazy and CALL her! Texting is lame anyway.

Please I already said I can understand if she is busy, but she comes online multiple times.. So she is on her phone but just doesn't reply.. I'm not annoyed because she responds late, I'm annoyed because she is on her phone but doesn't respond to me whilst she engages the conversation..

It's like you start talking to someone on the streets, you say: "Hi how are you?", they respond and you just walk away and ignore them.. just doesn't make sence to me

You need to lighten up. If you're that controlling over her response times you are going to push her away. Why don't you talk to her in PERSON? Why not plan things together in PERSON, by CALLING? If she's far away, forget about her. Long distance relationships don't work.

Because we don't know eachother that well and I'm not sure how she sees me. I'm not controlling and I respect people for being busy but I just think it's very strange that someone talks to me and then suddenly ignores me for a period of time, because if she is really busy then she wouldn't be on her cellphone at all right?

OK well if you don't know each other that well, then all the more reason to CALL and TALK to her and plan things IN PERSON so that you CAN get to know her well and you don't sit around wondering about texting crap. Before social media and all this other dehumanizing technology, guys and girls who didn't know each other well had to TALK to each other to get to know each other. All texting and social media does is destroy what social skills people have. It is amazing how many people make texting a priority. No offense but your question is a perfect example. Remember, you two are human beings, interact with each other as such.

I'm sorry but we are both students and both interns at the moment, we work 40 hours a week and do sports next to our internship. The reason we don't call or meet in person is because I don't want to ask her out because I don't know her that well yet. But that isn't really what my question is about. So at the moment we have to do it with texting since I cannot meet up with her since her working schedule is different every week, she has to work weekends. And again, I understand it if you are busy at work and can't reply to texts, no problem. But the thing is that she has the time to go on her cellphone but she doesn't respond, and I think that is weird since she engaged to conversation (thus accatually saying that she wants to talk with me). That is more the thing I'm bothered with at the moment.

If something is important you MAKE the time. You think you two are the only ones who work 40 hour a week or whatever? Nope. Yet somehow people still get to know each other, date and get married, even BEFORE all this technology crap. Amazing isn't it?

I'm not trying to sound like an ass, but if you want to waste time pulling your hair out over why she doesn't do something the way you expect, go right ahead. If she's not texting you back fast enough for your liking, then maybe you need to forget about her and find someone else who will. Otherwise, do like I said, Call her and talk to her and work things out that way. You'd be amazed how much easier communication is in person. Because guess what? When she answers the phone and you HEAR her voice, you don't have to wonder if she "Read my text and why she didn't reply?"
