Why does she always look down as we pass each other?

There's this new girl at work and every time we pass each other, we'll smile, we'll ask how each other is as we pass and then she will suddenly look down and walk off.

Is she only speaking to me to be polite?

I always pass this guy on my floor (at college) who I have a slight crush on, and I act the same way. He'll look at me and say hi, I'll say hi back and smile, and then I'll walk away quickly with my head down 'cause I'm shy as hell, and guys make me nervous.

I have no idea about her, though. Try to pay attention to how she interacts with other people. If she only does the looking-down thing with you, then she's probably just shy and thinks you're cute or something. :3

Well because she might be trying to hide her smile or blush, or it might be a natural habit that even she isn't aware off. Maybe she is just looking at her watch.. maybe it is something she does because she is shy when it comes to guys ( I know many shy people who do this)

No that's normally a good thing because she is shy around you which normally means she has a crush on you

She was talking to another guy today who was bent down working on a machine and she was just looking at me and seemed in high spirits.
