Why is it that when some woman says "all men are dogs" then it's taken lightly but when a man says "all women are whores" then it's taken as an insult?

I think what often happens is that when *some* women say "all men are dogs", it refers to how they think guys will sleep with everything that moves. Guys kinda find this funny so just laugh it off.

If a woman's called a whore, she won't find it funny and no one will laugh it off. Guys sleeping around are looked at positively, women doing the same are criticised.

It is a double standard I suppose, but it's a result of the massive advantage guys have in most areas. Women in general have to put up with more s**t because they're women so they are more likely to be offended when a guy makes negative generalisations about women, because they have to deal with it constantly. Guys don't feel as threatened by sexism so we don't really care. That said, sexism is wrong either way.

It's probably because some women have to deal with sexist bullshit so much every day that they just want to lash out for once but whenever they lash out, they're just beaten back down and told how unfair it is, whereas when men say things about 'all women', women are told not to take them so seriously because it's just a joke. I'm not saying that it's right to be sexist to anyone, but there is a double standard, yes.

They are beaten down. Feminists receive death threats and hate every day for fighting for equal rights between sexes. If a woman makes a sexist remark, then men tell her that if she wants equality, she shouldn't be a bitch. But if a man does it, he can say that it's just a joke and the men around him will stand up for him and the woman is made to back off again.

I only know two men in my life who, when I told them their sexist comment upset me, turned around, apologised and said they wouldn't do it again. The rest just tell me not to take things so seriously but isn't it serious that people can criticise me and joke about me based on stereotypical personality traits that I don't even have? Even my father told me that I should learn to realise that people are always going to be sexist to me and that I shouldn't take it so seriously but if a man gets upset about sexism, the woman is vilified.

Yes, sexism is wrong, but men do it much more and get less punishment for it.

I have always seen women being sexist and speaking bad about men. i have heard men too doing the same but their views are promply protested by the women.

You've decided that I'm a feminist and therefore I'm incapable of being able to think freely and see things objectively? That's not how it works. I've seen men being sexist my whole life and whilst their views may be protested by women, men around them stand up for them. When a woman does it, she may get some support, but generally women are reluctant to call themselves feminist because of the backlash they'll receive.

Look, I might be a 'staunch feminist' as I fiercely believe that I'm as worthy and deserving as men and that women's rights still need to be fought for worldwide (in the same way MRA's should be focusing on men's rights rather than taking down feminists) but I'm perfectly capable of debating about it, so there's really no need to dismiss me based on my being a feminist.

Generally, I would be insulted by a man opposing my beliefs because my belief is simply that women deserve the same rights and the same societal opinion as they do. If a man doesn't agree, then I have no time for him. Being insulted isn't a secret weapon to anything, it's just an unfortunate side-effect of conflicted beliefs.

Eh that's not true some women defend men when women say all men are dogs or all men want sex at least on gag. And I have seen on gag women slut/whore shame each other and men put each orbit down on here. It's ridiculous how some women make it look like only men do this to women

Well it is a statistical fact that men think of sex more than women and more frequently but other than that the double standard IS bullshit. But on the other hand guys get appreciated for being players while girls are persecuted for being sluts. So it goes both ways.
