Why do girls/women like to cross their legs?

I have seen this for a long time, especially in the subway. When they sit down, seconds after they will cross their legs. Do you do it because you feel more comfortable or you just don't realise it?

All my life I have worn dresses and skirts and even sometimes bikinis or swimming costumes so I got brought up to 'close my legs' and be a girl or now a days a lady so I always had to sit with my legs together or crossed so then I wouldn't be showing me 'private parts' to anyone. In other words I guess it's just a way to respect myself and my body. Hope it makes some sense.

yes it does. I knew that most women do it for the same reason but I've seen them doing the same thing when they wear jeans or normal pants. That's why I asked

Yes, if you are made to do something over and over it just becomes one of those everyday things, the only problem is that crossing your legs causes veins to burst because you are stopping the blood from circulating in a normal consitant flow. So ladies try not to cross your legs everyday for hours on end (mainly ladies whom work behind a desk or have a long distance to travel)

I personally just find it more comfortable, I am a lifeguard and at work were not allowed to cross our legs and it takes a lot of effort not to. I also think it is partially just habit, I used to wear a lot of skirts and dresses to school and had to cross my legs so as not to flash everybody, so it just became habit, and habit it comfortable.

I do it because it makes me feel safer when I wear a skirt. If I didn't cross my legs I'd think men would take it as an invitation. As it is even when I cross my legs people think it's okay to touch.

I do it bc I was raised that ladies cross their legs and it honestly just is like second nature to me. Plus it looks kind of manly bc most men have their legs open from what I've noticed.

Usually it feels more comfortable, and also because it makes us look more "ladylike," if that makes sense :P Also when I have a skirt on I usually close my legs when sitting so I don't expose too much, lol.

It's this thing, when women sit with their legs open, it looks "inviting" for men, so we sit with them closed, then its just morw comfortable for me at least to cross them

Thats how girls sit. Most of us are taught to cross our legs, because thats more ladylike and feminine. Guys open their legs, because that more masculine. And when girls wear dresses or skirts, we have to cross them, so we don't show our panties.

I do it cause i feel more confident, and it makes me look like a "women" since I'm 20 now and I look 16 I try my best to look older, I believe when you do sorting poses and so on it makes you look older and more mature.

Yeah, I can't speak for every women but for myself. I like doing it, even if it's not comfortable sometimes.
