If you just came to say good night then I think the awwww is a bit over the top which suggests she is attracted to you but then she might be one of those over the top girls. For example, some girls say awwww to just about anything any guy does for them. But for normal girls - guy friend who drives out in the middle if the night in pooring rain to rescue you with a broken down car will likely get a awwwww, guy friend who just pops over to say good night will not. Guy we are attracted to could do same good night "deed" (or anything slightly thoughtful) andbhe will get an awwww

Actually this could have different meanings, but every time I ever saw "aww" is when I'm flirting or trying to make it seem like I'm flirting. But it could also just mean thank you.
Sounds like she thought what you said was nice and that she appreciated it. I think it was a good move and I can imagine why that would put you in the friend-zone.

I say "Aww, thank you" when guys compliment me or do something nice. I say it because whatever they said or did was nice and I thank them for it.
