Why do guy hugs make you feel safe and protected?

Question

I don't know why, but whenever I hug a guy I know and trust it just gives me such a sense of security, like nothing can ever hurt me.  Side hugs and gap hugs don't really do it, but when they hold me tight it, feels like their arms are like a protective cacoon.  When I'm scared or upset and I hug my boyfriend, guy friend or my brother, it feels like walking in a warm room on a cold winter day and when I rest my head on their chest, my mind just goes blank and it just feels so calm and peaceful.  Don't get me wrong, hugging my girlfriends makes me loved but it doesn't invoke these kinds of feelings.  Do guys feel any of these things when you hug girls <3

I think that's just part of being a woman (the feeling of being safe, that is). Whenever I hug a woman and hold her tight, I hold her like she's the most precious thing in the world and I want to do everything I can to protect her. It's a really calming and peaceful feeling knowing that there is someone that I can protect and care for. When stuff in life gets tough for her and she feels like she can't make it, I love being able to hold her close and protect her and remind her that it's going to be okay because I'm there for her. I love holding them and making them feel safe. To me it's really special. Honestly, I've never felt quite as peaceful as when I was holding my girlfriend (now my ex...) in my arms. For me, it's one of the more painful things about breaking up because I won't be able to hold her and make her feel safe, anymore. To me, it's like I become someone who doesn't make her feel calm and safe, anymore, and it's really upsetting for that reason. I remember when I was still with my girlfriend, there were times when I would literally just hold her for hours because I never wanted it to stop and neither did she. I've never felt peace like that before and haven't since.

It could be a strength thing. Guys tend to be stronger and so would give tighter hugs, but you could try finding a strong girl to hug as an experiment lol.

Hugs from my boyfriend give me the best feelings ever. It's even better than kissing or anything else. The feeling of his arms around me makes me feel so safe and comfortable and loved. It's just amazing. He's so big and soft and warm and strong. I know exactly what feeling you're talking about but I can't explain it.

I enjoy hugs like the too. It's the feeling of serenity its like a baby and their parents holding them. You know that you're safe in their arms the world has nothing against you. They give you a sense of comfort that just seems impossible until experienced. Hugs are powerful.
