Why are girls asking about whether guys can lift them? What do girls hope to gain from being lifted up by their boyfriends?

I wonder if this is all just about some kind of weird sexual thing.

Why are girls asking about whether guys can lift them? What do girls hope to gain from being lifted up by their boyfriends?

  • I just find it incredibly hot. Also men usually like that they can carry me. I don't weigh a lot.

My best friend in college carried both me and my friend, one over each shoulder one night on the way home from the bars when we were trying to do something stupid. I didn't appreciate that actually because it foiled our plans and made me feel powerless.

But in general yes I'd like to know if a broke my foot on a hike or something he could carry me back. I'm not proud of it but that is how I feel.

  • Mmm, I'm remembering meeting a boyfriend at his dad's house when we'd been apart for several weeks but didn't have the option of any privacy at the house. So we took a walk in the woods nearby and had sex with him holding my weight. I was pleasantly surprised that he was capable of that - went home very much satisfied and without twigs in my hair. That makes a man's ability to lift me attractive in my book.

  • Not necessarily sexual.
It can be cute and/or intimate.
Its sexual if he's picking you up and tossing you on the bed. But being picked up otherwise is cute and innocent to me.

Also, enjoying that isn't a fetish... unless I guess it was a fixation.

  • Well, it's nice to be lifted by a guy, I don't know how to explain it. Sexual purposes too of course.

    • Thanks

  • There actually is a sexual fetish for that, as you probably assumed
but I believe it's more about feeling secure/safe, in your partners embrace.

I've seen guys asking the same thing
    whether girls could lift them.

  • It's their spaciousness speaking. They want reassurance that the man is physically able.

  • The main reason is to feel like he is masculine and you are feminine. To be swept off your feet.
For others it's that feeling of being able to be controlled. Picked up and thrown on a bed. Again, masculine and feminine.
And also it's fun. To be picked up during a play fight, makes a girl laugh.

I like it for those reasons but also because I am a bigger girl (even at my lightest). It's nice to still be lifted.

  • Guys, who wouldn't mind carrying me? Anyone? No one? Okay...

  • we like our guys to be strong

  • Flirting...

  • My current boyfriend is a little shorter than me and he can't really pick me up. I always say that I wish I was smaller so that he could. It's just a nice, cute thing to do with a girl. So long as she's willing of course.

  • It's cute to be lifted by a guy, and it's fun.

    • I think I'll narrow that in my opinion that it is nice to be lifted by my boyfriend. I don't like being picked up by everyone. I've been picked up by a person I was afraid was going to drop me and I didn't appreciate it. I was also picked up by a coworker one time just because he wanted to see how easy it was at a work lunch and I really didn't like that.

  • I don't know. I see it lots on here. I think it could be some sort of fetish to some and to others, I think it's a bit of an attempt at someone telling them that they could easily lift them because they are light and therefore giving them an ego boost. All in all I think it's a bit of an attention thing.

    • Totally- all of this ^^.

  • It shows strength!
    Strength is good! Strength=ladies ;)

  • I haaaaate when guys try to pick me up. I don't care how big you are it makes me feel self conscious and fat.

  • I have just accepted this will not apply to me as I am quite tall and so heavier than a lot of girls lol.

I imagine being lifted up by a guy makes a girl feel feminine and it might also have sexual benefits i guess.

i wish i was smaller/lighter sometimes for this reason haha

  • it has something to do with the guy being strong.. maybe.. we still are somewhat like we were in old times..

  • I think it's because all humans dream of someday entering space. Some women think that a guy who is strong enough could help them achieve escape velocity :D :D

  • Read between the lines.

She wants to know whether the guy is strong and will protect her.

    • We live in a city. If you want protection, then in the USA, get a gun, if you live elsewhere, get pepper spray.

    • and for a guy they should just get a dildo instead? @asker

    • @cinderelli false comparison, sexuality has nothing to do with beating up random people on the street

    • Show All
  • Physical domination. Pretty simple.

For all the rubbish equality talk out there, push comes to shove, women want a man who can show he's masculine and dominant (but not a bully. Pleasingly dominant is what they want).

  • Because some guys are assholes and say shit like they will only date a girl that they can pick up
