Why is it okay for women to hit men?

Question

Rather it be at home or outside, you see it everyday. Women hit men, almost as much as men hit women, however there is a stigma In our society, that somehow, these violent attacks are viewed as "Not that bad" or "Not the same" (As when a man hits a woman) 

my question to this of course is, why?

in a nation that preaches equality, with feminist charging forward with there "Women are equal to men" arguments, why is something like this more socially accepted than the latter?

rather you feel its wrong or not, one is definitely more accepted than the other.

I would think, no matter what, equal should mean equal, a woman should never place her hands on a man or vice versa and if so should be treated with the same scrutiny as the latter. 

unfortunately, its just not that way, why is that?

first of all, women being equal to mean doesn't always mean literally, like the sam paycheck for the sam job
Sometimes equal means like to be considered equaly worthy in her own way

Second, generally hitting someone is wrong, be it man or the woman
It is not the same if woman hits a guy or guy a woman cause their strength is very different
Guy hitting women can be lifethreataning for her, while men are not that indangered if women hits them

e. g. if kid hits and adult it is not the same as when the adult hits the kid but I repeat hitting someone in general sense is wrong, being it a man or a woman or kid
nobody says hitting men isn't wrong but it is not a serious as when man hits a woman, but of course there are always serious cases of men being physicaly abused by woman but it is less likely and not that common

It isn't okay. Women shouldn't hit men and men shouldn't hit women, just like women shouldn't hit women and men shouldn't hit men. Not because of gender, or race, or anything else, just out of common courtesy and respect for others. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks that women hitting men is wrong, but at least it's less widely accepted than it was in the late 1900s. Eventually, people will open their minds and I feel as though this subject will be something along the lines of racial equality, where in a few years or even decades people will look back and think "Why was it EVER acceptable for women to hit men."

It isn't acceptable for a woman to hit a man. I will playfully hit a friend when he does something to irritate me, but I'll never full blown hit a guy. My friends also tend to hit me back at the same force I've hit them and then we start acting like wannabe ninjas.

I personally think no one (woman or man) should hit someone out of anger or to abuse someone. When a woman attacks a man it should be handle like any other case and shouldn't be down played just because of the roles. Women might not be as strong as men but will still be able to do serious harm

It's never ok to hit Aman or a woman.. I believe if someone is attacking you for no reason whether male or female is to hit them back..

Domestic violence in men has risen and people ask why don't he hit back.. same could be asked about why women don't fight back...

My grandmother (may she rest in peace) taught me: "If you raise your hand in violence to someone, regardless of your age, size or gender, expect to get hit back".

The excuse that "men are bigger / stronger" and so shouldn't hit back doesn't hold water.

By that logic, if a guy smaller than me hits me, am I not supposed to hit back? If I take a hit at a trained, professional fighter, does that mean he's not allowed to hit me back because he hits harder? Of course not.

You hit someone, you deal with the consequences that you brought down upon yourself.

Well it's unlikely a women will do much damage.

No she shouldn't. but the difference is a man could knock a woman out, it's unlikely a women could do the same.

So really it's just more important for a guy to not hit a woman.

I don't think it's ok at all ever for anyone to assault anyone except if you're doing self defense or if you feel you're in danger. But if someone hits you then you could hit them back. But that's usually not the best either because you'll get consequences too, even though you have that extremely strong urge to hit back.

Outside of self-defense, it's never okay for anyone to hit someone else regardless of sex or gender. I don't think it's okay for women to attack men and then expect the man not to retaliate. That double standard just drives me crazy.

The only time I hit a mad was because he sliced my arm with a knife. You should only use violence in self defence. I thought I was going to die and I reacted accordingly.

it is never okay.. no one should get physical regardless of gender.. respect is the most important factor in a relationship.. and that's over when you get physical.. the women who do this behave like savages..
