Hah my husband and I use pet names for people... my Husband especially. I don't see an issue with it if it's stereotypical like Babe, Sweetheart, Love, Darlin'. It would be weird if the person was making up super cute specialized names maybe a, even though I still wouldn't take issue... some people just talk like that. You shouldn't change who you are just because your in a relationship IMO- but I am old and married so maybe that's why I don't think it's a big deal I don't know.

Depends.
If it was like hun, honey, sweety, sweetheart then no, cause i call everyone it. If he called girls and guys that then no, but if it was a specific girl or guy then id be worried. He knows about my best friend, and i calll him gingy (cause he's ginger, original right) and he calls me alaine (dk how to spell it, but it means beautiful in french/italian/irish (cant remember) and we have since we became friends 5 years ago. So far he hasn't cared.
Wow, no.
Pet names like that are to show that you care especially about that person. "Babe" in particular is a word which is only used for your partner; I would find it very strange if my girlfriend would call other guys babe.
