I wish I was African, is that weird?

I am in a interracial relationship and sometimes I feel like I don't have any good traditions or culture to pass on to my future kids. African Americans really don't have culture that I can be proud of. African American history only centers around slavery and civil rights, not really actual culture. Honestly some of it is kind of embarrassing. I wish I had rich delicious foods like my African friends, cultural clothing, language, etc etc. They just have strong African traditions that are passed on from generation to generation. I don't really have anything positive to pass on.

we lost a lot of culture too hun, i dont even speak the native language of angola. we lost a lot to colonialism also.

from what i know of African americans, u've got a strong culture that influences music and American culture itself. u guys r the cool ones everyone else sort of follows 😛

Technically white people have culture it has just been forced down everyones throats so it just seems like the norm
