I am wondering: Does age play a role in the likelihood of a woman being a gold digger? Or is age very irrelevant whether a woman is a gold digger or not?
The way I see it very young women in their teens and early 20s are the most desirable by the opposite sex and can use men for their money. Since the pay in that age range is not that high, women can objectify themselves and find a sugar daddy.
Meanwhile I believe, that women in their 30s are much more mature and have at least progressed in their life more and are working steady - the independent ones. Since they are making their own money (not unlike women in their 20s but they probably make more by that time) they have only little interest in the money-making of the opposite sex. I believe these women have realized what it truly means, that money ≠ happiness.

Female Teens and in early 20s are most likely to be gold diggers
Women in their mid-to-late 20s are most likely to be gold diggers
Women in their 30s are most likely to be gold diggers
Women in their 40s are most likely to be gold diggers

At which age range are women most likely become gold diggers?
It depends on how you define "gold digger." The way most men define it, it's actually the older a woman gets, the more she's a gold digger to them.
If you're defining it as a woman who is strictly, or pretty close to strictly, interested in a man for his money... then I'd say, yes, teens and 20s up to maybe 25 or so.
But older women care a LOT about how much a man has; they're just not using you for it as often. But if you think you can meet a 32-yr old attorney who has her own house and car and think she won't care that much how much money you make and will be mainly looking at what kind of man you are, you're kidding yourself. They want a man to have at least as much as they have and prefer a man who is in a comparable field, i. e. he's an attorney, doctor, businessman, tech geek or something. The more a woman has going for herself, the harder she is to get because she's more judgmental about what you have and where you are in your life. You can't approach them and be struggling with your career, laid off, un-ambitious, etc. Older women also have a longer laundry list of what they're looking for in someone, so even if you have your own money and a good job it's still so much harder to attract them.
So, they get called "gold diggers" a lot, as well, because, technically, they're also looking for a man who has money, though the reasons are different from younger women's reasons... and younger women who are NOT gold diggers are way more understanding than older women are about your career/finances and care more about what kind of guy you are (or how you look). So, if you're 22, this is the absolute best time for you to find a woman because you can find a woman in your age range who does not care about money and who won't make it impossible to get her, unlike older women. Once you hit 25, it'll get more and more challenging for you by the year as women get pickier.
I wish older women didn't care about your money, but, because they want to have kids, a dream house and a stable family, they do... and then even women who don't necessarily want kids/a family, if they are 25+ and especially if they're successful, money will still often be a deal breaker, because I've seen lesbians who harp on what other women do for a living, how much they make and do they have their own this or that. Ultimately, not too many 22-yr old women are running around insisting you have your own house, a good job and make good money.
Weird. So you are saying there are different type of gold diggers. But if the women get pickier by becoming gold diggers, they are setting themselves up for eternal singlehood then because of their unrealistic high standards, which is not my problem.
My problem is the inability to find good ladies. My dating "pool" is shallow and it is not because of my standards but more because of my preferences and different goals since I am a migrant far away from my former home (not to a better place! I want to relocate after all and I am unable to do so also). I never had a GF'. My relationship status was a gig some time ago.
Dating here will hinder my top priority goal. I am not in Iceland.
I just can't figure out why young men are so exceptionally concerned about these mythical gold diggers. It's become this fad-attitude in the last few years. Seriously, there really are not these roving bands of gold digger gangs just lurking around your wallet. You watch too much Real-Housewives.
Just yesterday I saw a gold digger in her teens or early 20s holding hands with an old guy with grey hair and in an expensive suit. It was the first time in years, that I saw a gold digger.
And not knowing a thing about her, their relationship or any other thing, you just assume she's a gold digger - not a woman who simply prefers older boyfriends - because of course, aging is SO awful, how could a young person EVER want to love someone older if they weren't being paid?
It's the teens/20's because, let's face it, they can probably get away with it more. Besides, if anyone already has their own money, it's the older ladies. I'm not saying I have money lol but other older ladies can be comfortable by my age sometimes.
Whichever age they are found to be most sexually desirable by men who are incapable of using the head above their waistline and heeding signs that are beyond obvious that the woman has no interest in them as a person, aside from their finances.
From what I've seen it's generally the younger ones that are inclined to chase that, but also the older (past 40's) that have made a career out of it and follow the money
