I am being so serious when I say this, I am the vape KING. I would legitmently choose vaping over being with a girl if she didn't approve it. I vape so much I will probably die of nicotine poisoning anyways soon.

I'm not saying that girlfriends are the most important thing in life, they're not. Vaping sure as shit isn't the most important thing in life and it won't pay the bills or keep you warm at night.

It's fine to enjoy doing something but it's another thing to make it an obsession. Obsessions are never healthy.

Then that is a problem that you need to address, because vaping really fixes nothing. No distraction from a problem ever fixes a problem. The problem just stays there in the background waiting for you. I don't say that lightly, I know that problems can be small or huge and complex. The same applies either way, no quick fix is ever a long term solution.

I also say this as a person who made chasing such quick fixes a way of life for a long time. It only leads you to more and more quick fixes and further and further away from any self control.

Happiness comes from balance, it doesn't come from a rollercoaster of highs and lows.

wait so then what do you think the honest solution is? because this kind of started off as a joke, but I'm honestly keen on hearing your perspective because smoking (not just for me, but for many people) seems to be an escape from reality. and you're right. the problem is always back when you return from your high. but, for people who deal with a harsh reality, what is a good step to take to be content with life regardless of outside influences?

There is a saying that basically goes, if you can't change your circumstances then change your attitude. The idea is that your perception can be altered somewhat, even when your surroundings can't. People have managed to find some level of peace even in the worst of circumstances, such as during imprisonment and/or torture.

However, the incidences where no circumstances can be changed at all are rare. The problems that are affecting you need to be listed out and then a strategy needs to be formed on how best to tackle those. It may require taking on one at a time and it may take some period of time to take them all on. However, any step forward on the path is progress.

When you can't control the wider circumstances in your life then focus on the things that you CAN control in the interim period. Simple pleasures can be useful, but make them healthy pleasures.
