yes he will look at other girls and think things but one thing I learnt very fast is that there's a big difference between love and lust. Love how you are. Even if you feel insecure about your looks, he obviously doesn't think your are less than perfect in his eyes.
Me and my guy actually have some fun with the whole looking at other girls thing now. He might notice someone wearing high heels that he thinks are sexy and he'll nudge me and give me a look and we usually giggle. or I see a pretty girl and I'm like ''ooh she's gorgeous" and see if he agrees and its just fun and fantasy. we end up having a giggle and its not an issue. we both trust each other and are confident that we love each other, so having a play in our minds with others isn't hurting anyone.
just give yourself a push and feel confident. start acting like you are totally gorgeous and 100% happy with yourself, don't get cocky, but just give yourself that boost. He already thinks it so become it for yourself. you're the girl on his arm so be happy about it :D
I have the exact same problem, Papilio. Don't feel like you are alone. I think it will just take a long time of being in a committed relationship, to finally get over it.

I'm going to tell you this right off the bat, you're the kind of girl who drives their boyfriend nuts. And I don't mean that cruelly but he's with you and despite whatever efforts he makes to show you how beautiful you are to him or that he's loyal to you, you still question it. Now he might be able to put up with it for a long time because he likes you that much but if it's been years and you still question if he's going to stay with you, he wont. And that's because it means you don't trust him or believe that he'll be loyal to you. And those are the key words, trust and loyalty.
You need to just trust him that he will stay loyal to you and that even if he see's someone better looking, it won't make any difference to him because as long as you're together, you're all he'll really be interested in.
Now if you catch him cheating, that is different. Otherwise just believe in him to stay
i don't give a f*** about other girls when I have a girlfriend, especially if she thinks she's the hottest girl in the place.
