Tall girls, do you find your choice in men limited due to your height?

Question

It's fair to say that most women like their guys taller than them. In fact I heard that less than 1% of couples in the US the man is shorter. Also I've noticed men have avoided taller women, this has been true for myself and my friends.

So to my question.

Taller girls, do you worry about finding a guy that matches your height or worry about finding a guy tall enough?

Also to all girls, How much taller do you prefer your guys?

One of my roommates is 5'10'' and that's always a big issue for her when it comes to dating. I assume it's probably because there aren't as many guys who are taller, but she talks about it quite a bit when we're at parties or when she starts dating someone new. Because it's so hard for her, she's usually willing to compromise on other things, physically or personality wise, as long as the guy is tall enough. It's very clear that her number 1 physical priority is height. For me and my other roommates, we're all under 5'5'', it's not usually as big of a concern because plenty of guys are taller than us. Although I will admit, my 5'2'' roommate and I (also 5'2'') are dating guys who are 6 foot, and my 5'5'' roommate is dating a guy who is 6'2''. So even if it's not something we consciously think about as much as our tall roommate, it probably still is a factor considering our boyfriends' heights.

I've been living with the "tall girl syndrome" most of my life. I definitely prefer the guy to be taller than me -- anywhere from four to eight inches taller. It gives me the chance to feel "petite" and dainty, to wear heels if I want to dress up for a night out... (Lol.)

Whatever the guy's height, it's more important that he's comfortable in his own skin. (A lot of times the really tall guys consider themselves awkward because of their height.)

Not really. I'm 5'8'' and when I wear heels I'm pretty much 6'.  I don't really care about height. I might feel a little uncomfortable if the guy is like 5'5'' but a couple of inches don't make a difference to me (like if the guy is 5'10 or 5'11'').  It seems like taller guys are more attracted to me though.   I don't know, I love my body. I'm a size 1 or 2 and have super long legs--most guys seem to dig that.

Depending on her age, I believe tall girls struggle to accept shorter guys in dating because of pressure to conform and look normal by MTV and Hollywood standards. Women are programmed from a very young age into believing short guys are inferior. I find the older the woman, the less reservations she'll have against dating a shorter guy.  Besides, young girls mostly care about having the tall trophy boyfriend to show off to their girlfriends.  His personality doesn't really matter as much unless he's a really abusive person.  Women will sacrifice getting ill-treatment from a guy if he's tall and good looking.  I've seen it first hand.  The older, mature tall girl who's not as pretty from her youthful days might lower her height requirements if it means avoiding the single life.  She can no longer complete with the shorter girls who demand the tall guys too.

Tall girls seem to be like short guys, as in our options are narrowed down. Me being 5'7 is probably somewhat of a turn off to most girls, just like a girl being taller is to guys

I'm 5'9" and that hasn't really made it difficult to find a guy. And maybe I'm weird because I'm willing to date shorter guys but I keep meeting great guys of many different heights. My current boyfriend has about two inches on me and that's fine. But I still have to giggle a little when I wear heels I loom over him. Maybe I should get shorter high heels but the 6" stilettos are hot.

4-5inches and I'm 5'9' and I only go for guys that are taller than me and since I'm not a giant that's like 6'0' I really don't have a problem finding guys to date..I have noticed though that the population is growing shorter and shorter...Being tall is thee sh*t...short people  don't be mad get glad. Lmao :P

I'm 6ft and I'd prefer a taller guy, but I'll be honest...I've pretty much given up hope of finding any guy. When I was younger, I wanted nothing more than a guy to really love me (and of course to return those feelings) but over the past 10 years, I've found that most guys just aren't into taller girls. It really sucks. So yeah, even if I wanted a taller guy, the chances of a guy actually being into me are so small that it would be rare that it was actually a tall guy that liked me (if that makes any sense)

Oh well, there's more to life than having/find a guy...just gotta figure out what that is and be happy alone!

yes oh my gosh I would kill to have like a 6'4 guy :b finding a guy taller than me at this age is very hard :b I worry about it all the time but even just an inch taller is good(: I'm 5'8 ish so like 5'9 or above is prefered(:

Sometimes... there seem to be plenty of tall guys where I live. I'm 5'10", so a guy that is 5'11" or taller is fine! I always thought being 5'9"+ was a huge turn off to guys... :(

HELL YES ! I'm 5'9 and when it comes to dating I'm so crapped ! I liked a guy like SO much some time and he couldn't even think of me caouse he's 5'6 !

Excuse me but I do not think that 5'8" is very tall for a girl because it is one inch aboveaverage. Try being six feet and above. Prettyhardto find guys taller than you.

Well where I live most of the men are over 6', so it's not hard to find a tall guy for me. I did notice that when I traveled to Europe a lot of guys were like 5'11 or 5'10".

Yes! ESP when you live in LA. The average height there is 5'4 and I am 5'7. I like the guy to still be tall even when I am wearing 4" heels. Do the math.

I'm 5'9 but no I don't find any problem finding cause I'm cool with dating a guy that is 5'11 and taller besides I'm not worried about that sense I've got latterly asked out by every guy in my high school .. :)
