My man of three years got a job up in the Sierra Nevada mountains which is like 6 hours from me, his work schedule goes like this, gone for 2 weeks, home for 2 weeks, gone 2 weeks, home 2 weeks, then gone for a month :( Like your guy, mine can't take any electronics either so we are planning on writing letters every day, and I have a necklace that he got me in the beginning of our relationship, well its a heart that says I love you that breaks in half so I'm keeping one and he is keeping the other, just to look at you know? And I'm planning on taking some of his clothes while he is gone lol and his big blanket ha ha weird, but being able to smell him is really comforting, especially when I'm sleeping because then I dream about him...So I guess my biggest tip is take some of his stuff...I feel you though, I'm dreading the 6th :( that's when he leaves :P but you know what they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder..And I'm also planning on taking some extra shifts at work, hanging out with my girls and taking some summer courses to keep me busy...so just try and keep busy lol I hope I helped

you are not stupid, I know how this is. Last year I went to europe for a month with out my boyfriend. Granted, we could talk over the internet but it still sucked.
the good thing is, it makes your relationship stronger. I know it sounds weird, but you realize just how much you insanely love that person:)
what we did was we spent the whole day together before I left, and then I asked him for the tshirt he had been wearing. I wore it on the plane and slept in it because it smelled like him:) made it a bit better.
good luck:)

Take comfort in your memories, find excitement in anticipation =]
do something to keep your mind busy. maybe take a class or something. but keep yourself doing things so you won't have time to miss him and before you know it, the time will have flown by
