"I'm not your type" - What does this mean?

I get this reply alot... more then I should from girls I think. So is there like an underlying message in this answer? Or am I really just not anyones "type"? :/

For some it is honest and means just what it says. Some people like a taller guy or a shorter guy or a certain kind of look or personality. So if you aren't what they tend to prefer, they say that. For others it may just be a nice way of saying they aren't attracted and it may not exactly have to do with type. A lot of attraction is unconscious. So they may not even know exactly why they aren't attracted to you and the "type" thing is a nice vague explanation to you and themselves.

It could have a lot of meanings. It basically means she either only sees you as a friend, or there is something about you that isn't the type of guy she would want to date. It could just be something silly. Or maybe she doesn't feel attracted to you.

Don't worry you are definitely someone out there's type. With good comes bad...in finding the right one we will all experience rejection or failed attempts with a guy or girl we were interested in.
