I called the cops on my girlfriend. Was it a good idea?

This was a really hilarious story. My girlfriend called me the other day saying that she was feeling so bad, so depressed, that she wanted to throw herself out of the window of her apartment in the third floor of her residence hall (We are both in College.) She asked me to go to her place -in the middle of the night- to comfort her.

This had happen in previous situations and she had just been faking it to have my attention. I realized this time it was more of the same, and I just called the Campus Police and told them about a depressed girl who said she would jump out of the window.

The police of course arrived, and I went with one of them to her room. When she realized I brought the cops with me she got so angry she started screaming and blaming me and looked totally out of control. I knew it was because of her anger and nothing else. This attitude made the cop worry and called for a professional therapist to arrive.

The therapist arrived in his bed clothes -he was just awaken by an emergency call- and after talking with her for a while while I listened part of the conversation, he asked the girl to promise she was not going to throw herself out of the window. She angrily accepted and she was required to attend therapy regularly for a few months.

She is so angry at me because I called the cops on her. She could not believe I would go to that extent. She deep down knows that I was aware she was just pretending and was not in real danger but is to proud to accept it explicitly and that makes her just more angry.

Did I do right? What do you think is wrong with this lady? It scares me to think I'm in a relationship with this dumb-head.

This lady also displays some other weird behaviors like biting people as I wrote in another question. See full story here: link
