My girlfriend is going to prom with someone else? what should I do about this?

Me and my girlfriend have been together for 8 months, we both go to the same school, and have a great relationship.

However our school prom is next Saturday. I bought tickets 2 months ago when they were being sold, and I thought because we where already in a relationship I wouldn't need a huge fancy "will you go to prom with me?" thing. over the weekend we went on a date, and when we went back to my house after I had a poster asking her to go to prom with me. She saw it and said she would like to go, but another dude asked her a week earlier and she accepted. However she said it was okay because we are still a couple and it was just a silly dance.

Now I don't know what to do. I have two tickets still, so I basically wasted 120 bucks, and I even tried asking a few "available" girls but they either said no or told me to go with my girlfriend. I asked my friends and some other people what to do but I just get "get over it" or "find someone else" answers. Also they said if I force her to go with me then I'm just being a huge d***.

I trust her and all, but she's a junior and I'm a senior so this is my only prom I can go to.

The only thing I'm worried about is the after prom parties because those always have sh*t loads of alcohol and sometimes drugs and she will be away from me for a whole night.

Is there anything I can do to help this situation?

Well, I wouldn't try to "force her" to go with you per se, but definitely make it known how bs it truly is that she would accept the guy's invite given that:

1) The tickets cost you a helluva lot of money

and

2) She's your girlfriend so why the hell wouldn't you assume you two were going together?

If she still stands her ground after that, something's most likely not right about the situation (beyond the obvious). Almost no high school girl ISN'T super excited about prom and there are definitely no thoughts of it being "just a silly dance." So there's a decent chance that something MIGHT be up. I'm not saying that's the case, but it would definitely give me pause if I were in your shoes.

That this is your last prom and that you really wanted to go with your girlfriend. Make her feel guilty. Seriously. Why would she say yes to another guy?! I don't get it. I could not agree with these answers more. There is no reason she should have said yes to some other guy when she's dating you. That's just wrong. Prom is not just a silly dance, she's definitely giving this guy the wrong idea. It's kind of like letting her go on a date with another dude, why would you do that? Makes no sense.

Just straight up tell her this is unacceptable. You're not being a d*ck by wanting to go to prom with YOUR girlfriend, not to mention the very last prom you'll have. You'd be a doormat to let her go with another guy and not say anything.

tell this other guy, "There's no way in hell, she's going with you.""She's my girlfriend and she's going with me" Then go to your girlfriend and tell her that "It's my senior year and I want to go to prom with my girlfriend" If she got asked by this other guy, she should of told him "No, I'm sorry but I have a boyfriend I want to go with." He's an ass for asking a girl that has a boyfriend any ways. You can tell her that she can dance with him if he asks, but he can't take her.
