Don't get me wrong, I want to get married someday, I really do. But I just don't understand why my friend is so obsessed with who is getting married/having kids/moving in together/ etc... in our circle.
It's good to keep on top of things, but sometimes I feel like she is putting pressure on me to move my relationship along. Me and my boyfriend have been dating for 1.5 years. And every time I see my friend (usually once a week) she asks me "So are you and your boyfriend still together?" Every week! :S Why?
I can understand if she hadn't seen me in a while, but asking every week seems like much. It's almost like she is keeping tabs on us and seeing how we measure up to everyone else. She keeps asking me if I am going to move in with my boyfriend. I am just starting my career and trying to afford life, yes it's hard, but boyfriend and I are not in the position to move in together (at least not yet financially).
And then she keeps asking me if I am going to marry him or get engaged. I would love to, but again, financially I can't. So I am not worrying about it until we start to talk about it. I would personally prefer to not live together unless we were married, that is just my preference.
She keeps saying that her boyfriend and her are talking about getting engaged, and she seems excited, but then she says that she can't and is not ready and told her boyfriend no. Okay? I don't know what is going on :S
Her boyfriend gave her a promise ring, and I am excited for her. But now that is only going to mean she is going to be asking me more questions about when am I going to move on with my boyfriend :S What the heck is going on?
