This girl is acting weird around me, what do you make of it?

I met this girl a month or so back, we were friendly at first then started flirting, then I stopped flirting with her because I came to the conclusion that I didn't like her like that. So I went back to friendly, and that's when she started acting weird, first trying to get me to flirt back with her and then she sort of disappeared on me and stopped coming around to hang out.

So I don't see her for 2 or 3 weeks. Then I see her today and she's acting very distant, she won't make eye contact and she seems nervous. We went out as a group of friends and she seemed to be on edge and not even casually talk to other people let alone me. I tried being friendly with her like before we started flirting but she seemed nervous and uncomfortable. Did she really develop such strong feelings for me that now we can't even be friends or is it more likely that she can't stand the sight of me because she thinks I led her on or something?

So basically do you think she just has hidden feelings for me or do you think she can't stand me anymore? She's just being distant/uncomfortable/avoidant.

I mean it's not like I led her to believe I was going to ask her out I never promised her anything I was simply flirting with her so it's kind of weird I think how she's acting

I hate it when guys get distant because they think a girl has these intense girlie feelings. Maybe she was just flirting back to be playful and wasn't quite sure about you either. Maybe when you stopped reciprocating so suddenly it made things awkward. Maybe you made her feel like she is bothering you. No one wants to seem clingy stalker weirdo. So when you go cold suddenly, it makes the other person question if you see them as a clingy stalker weirdo. So maybe she is just backing off. Maybe she isn't as interested as you think she is. Some times guys think every girl that even smiles in their direction is into them. If she is friendly with you again you might take it wrong, and think she is head over heels. If she keeps her distance, you will still think she is head over heels. You weirded things out not her.

leave the poor girl alone. Its obvious that she still likes you. It's not your fault if you don't like her back but it is your fault if you lead her on. I think you should let her know how you feel/don't feel or let her know you're into someone else. Yeah if she's nervous its probably her feelings for you.

if you're right then I think I've done a good job not giving her mixed signals anymore. I didn't contact her for a long time to let her know I'm not trying to get with her and whenever I did see her around I kept it strictly friendly.

I wonder when she will stop having feelings for me.

The feelings just don't go away, trust me I've been this girl and I've tried. I think her feelings for you will go away once she has found someone new. Once she like's someone else besides you then you too can defiantly be just friends.When the guy I liked did the same thing, (distanced himself and I didn't hear from him in a month) I figured that it just meant that he was nervous to text or call or was just waiting for me to contact him first.

oh and by flirting with her you gave her the impression that you liked her.Maybe at the time you did a little but weren't sure. Regardless she took this as you liking her, and it resulted in her seeing you as a possible romantic interest. Maybe its for the best if you two weren't friends, she might take it the wrong way thinking you're interested, you know us girls over analyze. You could always let her know you're dating someone/no longer single.That usually helps girls get over their crushes.
