In your opinions why some girls and some women pretend to be a gamer/or pretend to be gamers

Here is another one about gaming fellow GAG members and sometimes this either bugs me and turns me off completely and yes it really do turn me off completely and if you don't mind can you help me either get the bottom of this or help me figure it out thanks.

In your opinions and yes in general why some girls and some women pretend to be a gamer/or pretned to be gamers/or in my case pretend to be a virgin gamer when they are not?

And so all of you know like I said I'm starting to realize I'm a gamer as well and no that half of me is not fully awaken yet but yes I'm starting to realize I am a gamer as well and this bugs me and turns me off completely.

like why some girls and some women pretend to be a gamer/or pretned to be gamers/or my case a virgin gamer I mean come on it makes us true gamers and yes gamer girls and gamer women too look bad and she say oh yes I love video games.

Like for an example when you ask what kind games she likes/she loves she might say oh I love all kinds and when you ask her do you want play resident evil 2 with me or do you want to play left 4 dead one with me and then boom she got caught red handed that she is lieing skank or you may say lieing piece of trash.

And no no I'm not bashing anyone and I mean some of them do pretend that's so stupid and it bugs me and turns me off complete and I want nothing to do with any girls/or a women who is a gamer wanna be when they are not.

So any answers will help thanks if you have experiences or notice it please tell me why and if you have experience then please tell me how should I handle it thanks for the help :).

People can like video games, but like them or play them to different extents. Some people play video games every waking hour of their day. Other people play them more occasionally.

I don't enjoy FPSs or sports games, but I love arcade/puzzle games and RPGs. I can school pretty much anyone I play with on Tetris or Dr. Mario. I own 7 versions of Pokemon. More embarrassingly, I own every swimsuit on Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball. Sometimes I play religiously, and sometimes I go months without picking up a controller. I imagine that a lot of people wouldn't think of me as a "gamer" because I don't play often enough, or because I don't play games like WOW, COD, or Skyrim, but I do love video games.

Maybe Resident Evil 2 and Left 4 Dead aren't the types of video games a person enjoys, or maybe they'd rather do something else with you than play video games. Saying you like "all kinds" of video games doesn't necessarily mean you like every video game, or it might mean that you like *most* genres of video games, but there's still a few that you aren't that into.

It's true that people sometimes exaggerate about how much they're "into" something, either to try too impress other people, to fit in, or to try to connect with another person (You like stuff? I like stuff too!). But this certainly isn't limited to girls or video games.

You sound really judgmental, and I don't think it's as big of a deal as you're making it out to be. I've noticed a trend in "nerd culture" to try to exclude people deemed "not nerdy enough" and I find it pretty sad. "Oh, you don't know this obscure sci-fi/comic/anime/video game reference? You're not one of us/you're just a 'poser'." Maybe it's because some of these people have been excluded in other groups, so they feel the need to exclude people from theirs. Personally, I want to share my love for nerdy things with everyone. You've never played this video game, watched this movie, read this book? Borrow it from me! Let me tell you all about it! But if it turns out that it's not really their thing, I never think, "Oh, you're not really into this stuff even though you said you were, I'm going to think you're a lying piece of trash."

What I'm saying is that maybe they do enjoy video games, just to a much lesser extent. Even if they exaggerated because they like you and want you to like them, does that really make them a "lying piece of trash"?

You've never said you liked something before that you don't really like that much? Like, "Oh yeah, I like that band too." or "Sure, I like sushi" when someone invited you out to dinner?

People want to fit in, they want to be liked, they want to have things in common with the people

I understand that it might be a little dishonest, but saying you like video games when they aren't really your thing isn't harmful.

That is kind of like how some girls pretend to be sports fans, but have no idea what they are watching or talking about... they just want to impress, so that you will like them. I won't lie, I am not a gamer- even though I freaking love playing games, but I couldn't tell you about most games (unless we are talking about games for the Nintindo 64). You can get around it by not discussing games or letting girls know that you play. That solves the problem for the most part. Don't take it as a bad thing if a girl lies to you about being a gamer; she obviously likes you and want's to share a common interest. The next time that happens just say that it is cool and don't offer to play unless she says she want's to play. :p

Sorry but I can't stand liers I never respect liers and I understand moms and other women lie to kids about Santa Claus and other holidays like Easter bunny but lieing about anything else like I said and I never respect liers she have to be honest and lieing destroys relationships and marriages

like I said I understand if little stuff that I mention and other little things but act like they like same stuff as you when she don't and she needs to learn to be who she is and don't be who she is not to be and no I won't be mad I be a little bugged by it and it turns me off completely

Just don't mention video games. That seriously might save you the trouble anything else, I wouldn't know what to tell you :/ it is something that a lot of girls do just to impress a guy they like. Maybe you can teach them how to play instead of getting upset with them.

I don't mind teaching them if they ask/or if I offer and I won't be upset I'll be happy to teach them if they ask me and I gladly let them to practice for long as they needed

I don't get it when girls say stuff like "I'm a gamer" and find that really unique and exciting, I think no different of anyone, male gamer or female gamer. Why should it be more of a 'big issue' for girls? It's just something we do. It's not a gender activity and it doesn't make you suddenly different because you're a girl that plays games, just another hobby to me. Some girls have this impression that guys like girls who play games more than those who don't, I don't know what to make off that but I find it really cringey when girls make a big deal about being a gamer... congratulations, you're like everyone else, how exciting. Just don't bring up the gaming topic, I'm sure you have other things you can talk about.

My guess is attention. Some girls just love attention so they lie about doing something and others want to impress a guy they like so they'll make up a lie.

Outside of the internet I pretend to be a virgin gamer for the simple fact that it doesn't define who I am. I'm pretty good at the games I do play, but I play them for fun but that's about as far as it goes. I guess, I'd rather not be defined as a gamer too much. If the topic comes up then I might add my input, but I'm not inclined to tell someone I do, so I don't.

they're in it for the peen and attention. that's why you see so many pictures of girls sucking joysticks (not a euphemism). BUT,to be fair,most people ARE gamers,in one way or another-even if you play angry birds or Facebook games-you qualify as a gamer-a person who plays games. I knew someone like that, I introduced her to a game and she jumped on it. Told every guy she was a gamer and pretended to know all about it. I think she thought she was special. She would never fail to tell a guy that she played games... It's ridiculous if you ask me (her behavior ).

I'm a gamer myself. I don't usually play shooting games because it's not my cup of tea but if someone ask me to play a FPS game together I'll play just for fun.

A gamer is someone who dedicates almost all their time into playing video games console or PC because it is their hobby. Some girls think that if they say they are a gamer then dudes will find her more appealing even if she plays oh the most known game guys play like COD for like one time!! It's rather annoying. But yea those specific type of girls only do it for attention
