Guys, why would you hold eye contact with a girl who has a crush on you?

As I was walking I looked back to catch my crush staring at me. We held eye contact for like 4 second both with normal facial expression as if curious and distracted I'd say. We both didn't smile. We stare at each other for like 4 sec until I looked away and continued walking. 2 sec later I turn to look back at him and he still remained looking at me.He knows I like him and I'm 100% sure about it. He wasn't day dreaming because the 2nd time I looked back at him his shift to my direction. Then he just went back to doing what he was doing.

I'll look anyone in the eyes for 4 seconds. I've had a staring contest with a girl who was crushing on me in a lecture for several minutes before just to see what she would do. =P

The guy next to me asked her some long question.
