My Theory on GAG's Resident Misogynist(s)

I'm obviously not the only one who's noticed the recent uptick in terms of misogynistic posts on the site.

What I'm less clear about is whether it's one person doing it or several - in the end, that doesn't really matter, though.

What kind of person do you imagine him / them to be, though?

This is the guy who, among other things, has posted in support of

1. Female Genital Mutilation - apparently to keep women well behaved

2. Removing Women's Voting Rights - because he doesn't like women to be given any form of choice

3. Slut Shaming based on apparel - because he seems to view women choosing what they can wear as a form of empowerment, and therefore as undesirable.

I imagine, in my mind's eye, that he looks something like this.

And I bet he's never had a girlfriend.

What do YOU imagine he's like? And what made him become so bitter? It's time to share some THEORIES, here, GAG.

Well, a couple of thoughts...

Personally, I think only a very small percentage of the posts that you're referring to, are the person's true feelings. More often, it's someone trolling for reactions. This is why they're almost always anonymous. They predict that it will trigger some people (it often does)... and they get off on that.

The true misogynistic posters are usually older men that feel they've been burned in a divorce, paying child support, etc. - and a few younger sympathetic younger users that are incapable of objectivity in regards to there being 2 sides to every coin.

The slut shaming is a different genre of troll. Those people are just plain judgmental and dogmatic about their own views being the only possibly correct ones. There is a lot more of that here on GaG than users that are willing to consider other views on any subject.

Lastly, this is great example of why it would improve the GaG community if they were to limit the number of anonymous posts that any one user is allowed to make.

A number of factors why men become bitter misogynists:

Lack of success with women
Hanging out with the wrong women
Being used by gold diggers
Being cheated on
Bad experience with females (and more so when they encounter feminazis)
Irresponsibility
Ignoring the OK females
Divorced and sentenced for alimoney
Inability of getting laid
MGTOW

I'm pretty sure they're all guys who have had relationships that failed in explosive ways due to their incapabilities to respect and appreciate others or are miserable losers who can't accept the reason why women aren't flocking around them is because they aren't capable of making themselves be attractive or don't ask women out. I think a small percentage are actually trolls and we're just coming into a sad era of society where men hate women and women hate men. I think a few of them have been raised that way and a couple others happened to run into a succubus on and off chance

Pretty pathetic though. Whenever I read those posts I have to question whether someone actually believes that filth or if they're mainly just venting

I think they are people who fail to see their own flaws, which are probably personality quirks, some odd behaviors, since most physical flaws can be overlooked. These quirks usually can as well, but some people who unfortunately just grew up in that bubble never being able to spread their wings come out with a lot more than others. They never find confidence, can't carry a conversation, don't always know the personal space boundaries so they throw some pretty odd vibes. This keeps them loners but not by choice, and so they end up the lonely bitter female/male. That's how I imagine them anyway.

I assume misogynists are largely compiled of men who had some sort of failure with women. With their mothers (in the form of mistreatment), with dating (women aren't attracted to them) or divorce (their relationships with women always fail.)

On G@G it tends to be the kinds of men who have no luck with women that dominate the "culture."

Yes we do have quite a few here. It's an insually large amount and usually of the over 50 variety but there are strong ranks now in the 18-24 variety as well. Campus rape, strong as ever.

That in the photo the typical look of male "feminists" and other social justice warriors. If you don't know this, You either project or haven't many friends, and likely have no Twitter account.

Usually, they have never had a girlfriend. It seems to be hurtful to the ego, produce rage, and the need for a vent.
