Can you re-ask the same question if no-one answers in the first one?

Or would that be against the rules?

  • No, that would violate the rules of the site. If you posted the same question, it would get removed as a "duplicate." If you want more responses on a particular question, you can feature it and it will be highlighted at the top of the "recent questions" page and on the Live Feed for 24 hours.

  • Look, I'm going to suggest you something else.
Ask the same question 3 or 4 days later and word it in a different (eye-catching) way.
I've noticed that many people do that and they don't get in trouble.
Or update your question in order to "bump" it.

  • Just be careful with it because If word it the same way it might get removed for duplication but if you word it differently, then you'll be fine!

  • Just delete the first one and re ask it

  • Just update the last one, but if you don't want to do that, then I'm sure it would be fine to ask it again.

    • Does it get bumped to the top if you 'update' the old one?

    • Yes... At least that's what I have noticed.
