i'm a bit confused about how following someone works with regard to privacy. it seems that if someone has their profile set to private, you still can't see their questions and stuff even if you follow them. so what's the point then of following someone. and why do you have to request to follow them, yet when they accept you still can't see their question? is it just so you can send them messages?

Following someone puts their activity in your feed if you click the 'buddy' icon to show activity only from users you are following. If someone has a private profile, the user must follow you back in order for you to see the information on their profile. However, if they accept your follow request, you will still see their activity in your feed.0
