Can I report the opinions which are copied and pasted from other posters?

If someone posts the same opinion (two or more sentences long), which was posted by someone else minutes ago, could I report it under "spam"?

There used to be a guideline like this, but I didn't find it now. Have admins changed that or could I still report?

  • Of course you must. It's copyright infringement even if there's no so called legally bound here. It's only morally right at least to mention the person copied from

  • Yes, but I guess it depends on WHY they copy and paste them.

Are they using the other person's opinion to help give insight into their own? Or are they just lazy af? :P

You could create a bot which will copy and paste the answers on each thread and collect xper. Then you could redeem them and earn benefits you didn't even work for.

Sounds like a crap-load of work. - Nah. Too lazy

If I could create a spam bot like this, I'd be so proud.

  • I'd report that as duplicate, spam, or nonsense and then let the admins sort it out.

For example on this thread. A guy copies your answer
      "context please?

You mean are they not quoting the OP for purposes of responding?"

      And post it here.

This used to be a violation of guidelines, not sure about now.

I'd say if they don't add anything, then yes. Report as spam.

      Thanks!

  • I don't know, but if it's spam, I'm going to report it as such.

  • In all technicality chances are that the same opinions pop up from time to time that are word for word copies of one another, but not intentional. I mean, if people can ask the same "how do I look"question every single day then the answers are bound to repeat themselves.
