What is with this automatic "most helpful" selection?

Why did GAG start selecting "most helpful" randomly if you don't select one in a given time? This is a STUPID "feature", as often none of them fit or I just don't want to select one. How does this remotely make any sense? Why should you be REQUIRED to choose one, or have a really bad one chosen for you?

GAG Admin: Please change this feature.

  • You're right, it is dumb. GAG, get rid of it!

What Guys Said 1

  • One of two reasons come to mind:

    1. The system can "discard" the question if it treats them like cases by "closing" them with an MH selection. When chosen this way no one actually gets anything; it's just an orange rectangle.

    2. It encourages the use of the feature to begin with since inaction equates... this.
