Being a gentleman is not equivalent to being sexist!

I don't understand why some people think that being a gentleman is equivalent to being sexist.

In my studies there are many rules to being a gentleman. Yes most of which is about treating a woman like a lady. Although it goes beyond that. A gentleman opens doors for anyone regardless of gender. He will help anyone out regardless of gender. Yes he feels the need to adress women with the up most respect as he addresses anyone at all. With gentlemen everyone starts out with a high amount of respect. Where it goes from there all depends, but we still do not let that hinder how polite we are. As well a gentleman should always offer to pick up the tab on a date. Now if the woman insists then you should let her do it. I mean you as well deserve to be treated well. Let her repay your kindness. As well it is ungentlemanly to argue about a simple tab on a date. It is ungentlemanly for one to do things that makes the woman feel uncomfortable or if it is unwanted I.E. if she dislikes you holding doors for her. All in all being a gentleman is more about your outward respect for others over how you mostly treat women.
