A lot of talk is made of a person's alter ego, but I don't think many people know how to tap into that power or feel brave enough to do so. Your alter ego, as I like to think of it, is your Id, your impulsive nature and a person who follows their impulsive nature is deadly attractive to others simply because most lack the ability to let their Id take over.
Your Id if it could take over would do the thing you want to do but think is too crazy to actually do so it's directly tied to your repressions. Repressions make us weak because they distance us from the people we would like to be and causes us to resent ourselves for not living up to that image. Yet, a person would have to almost "go crazy" in order to act on those things because it would feel like breaking rules they've set as possible. Yet doing so is exactly what the body needs to wake itself up and feel like they're actually living. People who are very repressed tend to experience a lot of boredom with life, get easily tired, and tend to be rather insecure because of course they're not being who they want to be they're not doing what they really want to do because they feel it's wrong. Obviously, some of it will be wrong in the case that it hurts others and for this reason it's good to be repressed--humans need to be repressed because you can't just eat, have sex with, or kill anything your animalistic nature tells you to.
Yet, repressions very often go to far where you're so used to repressing yourself you don't even know what it's like to act on your intentions meaning do what you want. Telling someone to do what they want who's repressed is like telling someone in Pre-K to do Calculus. They don't know even know what it is. The better command is to tell them do something crazy. Once you take away the confines, the filters, the obstacles that obstruct a person from their Id--their impulsive desires you can truly see them as they'd like to exist.
So, everyday do at least one thing that you think is crazy and see how often times nothing bad ever happens but rather a lot of interesting, cool things happen and most importantly feel that rush you get when you're doing something you think is insane. You feel alive in a way you couldn't have imagined. You're free from the repressions.

i always called it the 'dark side' and whenever i let it out, it feels great
i can actually feel little pains in my body go away whenever i act upon it
i think it's why many people are fascinated with antagonists in books/movies because they just don't give a damn about conforming to societal boxes that makes us repressed in the first place
Everything u said is true but whats the point of an alter ego if u don't let them out or w. e else. I love my alter ego bc she says things I can't say bc I'm scared too. Nd if I did start bein more like her she will still be around
