3 Great Things About Being Masculine

There's a lot of chatter around her which seems to denounce masculinity as an oppressive and abusive force that crushes the souls of men and turns them into unfeeling aholes.

Yet, masculinity, in my opinion, is a very fun concept which speaks to a lot of men regardless of orientation.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

3 Great Things About Being Masculine

I didn't put physical activity into the masculine category. It was there when i was born. What's important to note is that many men are attracted to a mix of masculine and feminine qualities in women. So, don't get on my case about saying physical activity is generally masculine.

When a guy goes rock climbing, plays touch football, or simply plays with his dog he feels an electric energy in his body making him feel centered and at home in his body. It calls for him to test the limits of his physical prowess and see what mountains there are to climb.

Work generally has us being sedentary and going to the gym for a perfect body rather than for a love of fitness frames physcial activity as something merely to do occasionally so that we don't die but it's a great masculine activity.

AGGRESSION

3 Great Things About Being Masculine

Starting even as a young boy, one quickly realizes that girls in general will just give you the right of the way if you want it bad enough. If you grab that cookie fast off the tray its usually only boys ready to take it from you. If you say inappropraite stuff and are too loud people generally enjoy it. You have a lot of freedom to express yourself and generally take up space. Masculinity is all about release your energy upon others. While this has been obstructed in abuse--aggression in terms of expelling energy out of your body has nothing to do with that.

LAZINESS

3 Great Things About Being Masculine

Every man dreams of nothing but lounging with his nothing in his perview but the sight of his belly and an outstretched sunset in the distance. Masculinity is also about the easy life. It's about saying f u to a world that demands you slave on a hamster wheel during the best years of your life. It celebrates chilling and being chill. When a man works far harder than he has to in life whether that be at the gym, keeping a clean crib, being very active and communicative in his social life, or putting in extra hours to make his boss happy...we find it a bit strange.

Not bad...but a little strange. Men like to laze about...not all but many. It makes no sense...how can a soldier be the pinnacle of masculinity and yet the lazy boy be a much closer representation to what actual men aspire deep down to be and who most men eventually become after they find themselves a nice wive to settle with?

It's good to be a man. Masculinity isn't a prison...it's an option--one full of great results.
