I get a manicure and pedicure done monthly. My hair stylist is every other week and she touches up the eyebrows for me (wax and plucking). Straight razor shave with a good lather and alum block every other day and you will be gold.
I've talked to girls in the salon while I was there and they are usually extremely interested that I get them done and thought it was kind of sexy. They said what most of the other commentors have said that I tried to take care of myself and it was very apparant. They said I seamed very comfortable with my sexuality and who i was.
In terms of color, if I am with my gf I usually will get a color on my toes just for shits and giggles. There is a time difference when you get a buff and clear vs color and clear; so I get color so I don't have to leave her alone. I have gotten a polish from Del Sol I think, that changed from clear to pink in the sun on my fingers. I wore that for 3 weeks and got a handful of comments, none bad. I usually get a clear coat just to keep them looking fresh.

Personally, I wouldn't care. It's just another way of taking care of your body and if it makes you happy to do it, then not only is it not my business, but it's not something that's going to be an issue. My boyfriend's never had a manicure or a pedicure but he's let me paint his nails for him before and sometimes he does it for himself - mainly when he's feeling bored - and it's great to see a 6 foot tall man with pastel blue nail polish :3
I do my guys nails for him. I think it's more me than him. I like groomed guys, but I find facial stubble kind of masculine and sexy. One thing, he would never go to a public place and have it done. Secret: guys are just as vain as we are. :))
I think it is great for men to care for themselves and would love if my s/o was to join me. I don't think I would encourage him to get a color. A nice buff and shine looks nice.

I don't mind if a guy went to get a manicures or pedicures because you're taking care of your body in a way. And if my guy wants nail polish it's his choice to get it, not mine
And I'm pretty sure girls don't want long finger nails in them.
I actually think pedicures are more forgivable than actual fingernails, its a way to keep your feet in check anyways. Definitely no colour though for a straight man, stick to the clear.
I think it's a bit lame women go, so I don't really have much of an opinion positively with regards to me doing it. But what business is it of mine? You do what you like.
