Guys what's with just calling me cute? Why not hot and sexy?

Okay so I've been called cute all my life. From the moment I was like six to now I've only ever been cute. I've always wen more shy/quite so I thought that was why people called me cute. But even when I go out with friends and I think I'm dressed a little sexier all I he is cute.
I was dancing at a club with my friends the other day and I guy approached me saying "hey I noticed you over there and I think your pretty cute". What I'm at a club in a short dress trying to look hot and all I got was cute.
I'll admit I'm not the tallest sexiest thing to walk to face of this earth. In fact I'm really short at 5'1, and if I didn't have big boobs, I'd probably look like I was 13 but still people don't have to treat me as a child. At work when I tr to explain things in a serious manner, and when I finished my coworker just laughed, patted my head and told me I was cute.
My ex boyfriend always called me cute, nod when I asked him to deliberate he just said "well because you just are"
We went out to the club with our male friends. We got all dolled up and when my friends came out they hot and sexy from our friends, but I just end up being cute. I asked and they said "we'll your just too small and sweet to be sexy".
Guys what makes you call a girl cute instead of hot and sexy?

Because what if someone just told you "I would probably fuck you"? That's technically what calling someone hot or sexy means. Cute is more casual, so that's what guys will call you when they first meet you, unless you're a total slut and you look like you're asking to be called hot or sexy.

And yes, you probably are a cute type of girl. Not some raging temptress, just someone who's cute. You're probably the definition of cute, and it's hard to explain.

Well if I don't know you I would stick with either pretty, cute, or beautiful. Some girls do now like to be called hot and sexy especially if they are with a group of girlfriends. I learned that one time the hard way. Cute can be sexy and hot, especially the way you described yourself, You sound hot and sexy to me :) I'm wondering if its because of your height, small women to me can be hot and sexy sometimes more than the tall ones ;).
