Why did he turn his head away when he saw me?

We bumped at each other at the company's door. He was going out and I was going in. When he saw me opening the door, he stepped on the side and quickly turned his head away pretending looking at something. It's like he's hiding himself behind the door. This is already the second time. The first time I saw him and I know he also saw me when we were waiting for the elevator, but he also turned his head away and acted like he didn't see me. This guy is shy and socially awkward, but always nice and polite to everyone. So I don't know why he is acting like that. Did I do something that makes him hate me?

He doesn't hate you, but more than likely likes you. Trust me, I have been in that very situation. There was this cute girl that I used to see around a lot at my work as she worked in the same building, and she used to smile at me anytime I saw her. Eventually I developed a crush on her, and would always smile awkwardly and look away. Sometimes if she caught me off guard, I would just look away and pretend I didn’t see her. One time she was by the elevator and she looked and smiled, and I just sort of half smiled and turned away awkwardly haha. If you still see this guy around, the best thing you can do is just say hi and make him feel more at ease. Hope that helps :)
