Your bother is correct. I was 14 when I switched. By the end of high school most of the boys were wearing boxers.
I don't like boxers because your scrotum is hanging around, so I personally didn't.

There is no age limit for wearing boxers, but as teen we want to fit in and especially when changeing for gym class. At 14 or 15 he’s starting high school.. it was the same for me, but I now I keep a variety of types different needs. Like briefs when I need support or boxers when I’m just chilling.
The first time that I wore boxers I was 12. I wanted "grown up" underwear like dad's. 2 years later, it was back to briefs.
Fast forward to my mid 20s. My friend only wore boxers, and he wanted me to try them. I bought some boxers to see if I liked them. It was strange to feel my goods hang down my right leg, yet I liked it. After a month, I never looked back.
Started in around high school freshmen year when I switched. I wore them a couples month before I actually got into high school but I guess the full change was in high school.
I switched from boxers to boxer-briefs at the age of 23.
honestly, im still trying. I first tried when I was 12, but I kept getting erections due to the loose sexy feel - which poke up like a tent and inform everone your're sexually excited which as you can imagine is very embarrassing
