Why does my boyfriend act like he's better than me sometimes?

Sometimes, my boyfriend acts like he needs to "teach" me, and he said in the past that he knows more about life than I do. What is that even supposed to mean? He just seems to think that he's wiser and more mature. And he's only 20 so what's his deal?

Its only 'sometimes' he behaves this way, right? He's quite alright at other times. So i guess you don't give too much attention to him when he behaves in that way, and things should be fine! :)

This is true. I guess it depends on what's going on in his life. The more stressed, the more he acts that way.

I guess as much. Just try to support him when he's stressed, but if he isn't receptive to that from you its better to ignore him during those phases.

That's sound advice too! My ex boyfriend wasn't exactly abusive, but he acted much the same way. If this one starts "acting up" again (lol), I will take this into consideration.

Guys like to be in power. But I am also wary too, it sounds a bit too... imposing. Boasting or having a lot of ego is one thing, but trying to dominate intellectually is another.
