He keeps asking me out - I don't like him?

Hi. So there's this guy who reallllly likes me (for 2-3 years now). We are friends and I care about him but just as a friend. He has asked me out 3 times over the course of the last year and a half and I have always said No. He is cute and smart and sweet and perfect for some girls but I just don't feel something romantic for him. I know it would be unfair for the both of us to lead him on and I don't want to hurt him any more. The last time he has asked me out was last week and I just decided to have a talk with him and tell him that my feelings are not going to change and the best thing for him is to get over me. (as awkward it is) I'm distancing myself from him, Like he would say hey and i'll respond hi but I don't say more than that. We have a LOT of the same friends and see each other every day. Guys, What do I do? I dont want to seem like a complete bitch by complaining about this but i'm really worried for him as a friend cause he is now extremely quiet and missing out on social events just because i'm going to be there.
I'm not going to change my friend group or just go out with him for the sake of it (believe it or not i've been advised the latter)

you told him its a definite no. the rest is yup to him. how he hands it is on him. you dont do anything weird or different. if he doesn't want to talk to you then leave him be but dont act like an idiot around him. e likes you so what. it happens. just act normal. and hell get over you.

i would have just told him the very first time i do not like him in any other way than a friend and this will NOT change. if he didn't believe it id say I know myself very well. i would like to be frieda but thats it and he absolutely should move on. and my mind is made up so please dont ask again bc its only going to frustrate the both of us.

if he tried again id tell him he needs to respect what i already told him and until he thinks he can do that we should take a step back from our friendship. give him some space.

but i wouldn't just start ignoring him without telling him whats going on. thaw just cruel. and patronizing, his feelings are HIS concern not yours. as long as he's niot asking again then just be normal.

I think distancing yourself from him is the best option. It's very difficult to get over someone if you are constantly seeing or talking to that person.

have you considered asking people to talk to him for you. Tell them that you think he may be in desperate need of company over the fact that you're not interested. If they are his friends they will be there for him.

Your best to continue distancing your self from him make excuses
up your busy doing stuff.. Say your going away to a cousins house
the more you make your self available for him the more he will want
to be with you i know it's hard cause he got feelings for you but you
got your mind made up.
