Guys, how long can you go without texting a girl if you are interested?

There's a guy I've been texting with lately. He used to start every convo and lately it seems that he's been waiting for me to text him first.

Interesting enough, I took advice from a female friend of mine who's very popular who told me not to text back too quickly, show too much interest, or text them first EVER--even if you're infatuated with that person. It took lots of self control, but I've followed that advice to this day.. That being said, he's probably backing off purposely in order to make you more focused on winning him over. (& it's obvz working) I do it all the time & it works but means nothing... I still like the person im playing hard to get with. Don't stress about it and start returning this behavior--he'll be at your feet after a 4-day "text boycott."

Respond in a calm, nonchalant manner like you were living your life just fine without him. Your goal here is to create a "chase", so he'll become more interested in you when it looks like having your attention is a huge prize. Save the "cutie pie" attitude for when you're together only, and talk casually in texts with short responses. You know you're doing it right when you can send one word to him and he'll text back a paragraph every time bc he's excited to receive your texts. This is why it's SO important to send replies at least 10 minutes between each of his responses, and to NEVERRRR text him first. Even if he doesn't text you for days, don't give in until he does.. that's when you know you're getting his sole attention and interest.

About five days. I will say this: If you try to play it too cool all the time and don't initiate text messages, the guy will be annoyed with that and might peace out. The reason is because dating is a two-way street. The guy wants to be wanted too - surprise. A lot of times women want to be wanted so bad that they forget that the guy ALSO has human feelings. Treat people how you want to be treated, but don't over text him. A lot of women stay single because they play way too hard to get.

There are simpler and more straightforward women out there so a guy with self-confidence isn't going to bend over backwards if the woman isn't showing an appropriate amount of interest back.

I generally start the conversation, although there was a time when she used to start it pretty often. I can tell you that it makes me happy when she texts me first, and I generally start to text her less when she goes a long time without starting the conversation, because it makes it look like I'm addicted to her (which isn't necessarily false).
As for how long I can stay without talking with her, theorically I've got no problems, I can withstand not texting her for pretty long, although I feel quite void after a couple of days not hearing from her.

It depends. I get annoyed when my crush doesn't start a conversation, and at the same time it reminds me this is just a one-way; so I can't expect it.
As for your question, I can last a week or two.

Maybe 2-4 weeks but after the first two weeks the interest just gets smaller and smaller
